Except then someone would say that soft cheeses are better than hard cheeses which would lead to someone else saying that white wine goes better than red.
The arguing would continue with disagreements about American cheeses being better than Russian ones. The English would side with us because we would stand up for Wensleydale but the Germans and French would leave in a diplomatic huff when the US ambassador says "I don't know anyone who likes Cambozola."
After that the Cheese Race would begin. The Russians would build a huge wall and we would begin having stories about "Checkpoint Cheddar" followed by the "Colby-Jack talks" which would promise to reduce the hard cheeses in our arsenals but wouldn't really accomplish much except some photo ops.
Oh the horror of it all....

I was wondering last night...are we talking about food cheese or dope cheese?

HM, we are talking about real cheese :)
Cheddar-style cheeses:
Cheddar is one of the most popular and widely copied cheeses in the world. Cheeses that are 'cheddared' undergo a step in the making process which involves them being cut into pieces and stacked and turned at the bottom of the cheese vat for a period. The archetypal Cheddar cheese is firmtextured, yellow in colour with a clean, mellow taste which develops a sharp and tangy bite the further it matures. English cheeses such as Gloucester, Cheshire, Leicester, Lancashire, Derby, Wensleydale and Caerphilly all belong to the Cheddar family. Even Stilton, a blue vein, is Cheddar based. America, Australia, Canada and New Zealand all make varieties of Cheddar in varying degrees of strength. Vermont is one of the best-known American types and the Canadian Cheddars, made from unpasteurised milk, are highly rated. Cantal is a French Cheddar-style cheese and Kashkaval is a distant Greek relative made from sheep's milk

Instinct, that was really funny. "Checkpoint Cheddar" and "Colby-Jack Talks". You are always so on the ball. LOL
Extra, extra sharp cheddar for me, please, or swiss, or roqufort (?), yum yum. Or, brie, or gouda, or almost any - even cottage.Posted 4 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

I cheese shopped today, Camembert, Ricotta,Kapiti Kikorangi Blue,Aged Airedale(not the dog), Farmhouse, Feta, Tasty cheddar and a vintage tasty. You have all led me astray with your talk of marvelous cheese. when my Mother was a youngster, many many years ago she said their cheese was so smelly they kept it in a mesh cupboard hauled high in a tree on a rope. It was her job as eldest to lower the cupboard and bring the cheese in as required. By the time I was old enough to remember the cheese at my grandparents it was less offensive and kept under a huge china cheese dish lid. The sight of a china cheese dish brings back wonderful memories of childhood and great cheese.

I love a good bit of cheese - but not as much as my cat does. Both he and my previous cats have gone wild for a taste of cheese (especially Cheddar). He will eat it straight from my hand or, given a chance, from any plates with it on (either chilled or melted!), & then purr & lick his lips afterwards !
Does anyone else's cat love cheese too?

Yes Hammo, Moonshadow just needs to hear the sound of the cheese being opened or the cheese slice being taken from the draw and she's at my feet, stretching up for her bit of cheese. She even hears it when she's sound asleep. When we got her as a 7 week old from the SPCA they said to feed her a mix of cottage cheese with a raw egg mixed in well, think that may be where she got the taste for cheese. If you don't give it too her fast enough she head butts your legs.

When I went to Highschool in Pleasanton,Ca. they had a place on Main St. called The Cheese Factory(how original, huh?). They had just about every kind of cheese from all around the world there. Great stuff. Maybe when Rubia passes thru there she should check to see if it's still there.

Huddy and Sebastian both love cheese. They like cheddar and Swiss.
