  1. Cheese! YESSSSSSSSS!

We put gorgonzola on our steaks after grilling them.
Also, don't neglect the limburger with onions on pumpernickle
    with dark beer!!!!!!

Cabot Creamery in VT has the best cheese I swear!

OMG, gotta get some right now!

  3. tigerpaw...Just got a chance to watch the Wallace & Gromit video. Never heard of them before. It was cute. Thanks

  4. Which one did you see Susie? There's three short films and then a feature length movie.

Posted 4 years ago by Instinct #

  5. The one w/the penguin on the railroad tracks. I was tired but couldn't stop watching till it was over.

Posted 4 years ago by feral #

  6. Ah, "The Wrong Trousers" that was the second short film they made. Now you have to see "A Grand Day Out" (the first one they did) and then "A Close Shave" (the third one).

After that go pick up "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" - very funny horror movie tribute

  7. Susi yes we have to stop by and see if the cheese factory is there! Maybe do cheese tasting for lunch. heehee!

  8. Now I'm not against velveeta but I only use it in grilled cheese sandwiches and in a chili dip, Stag canned chili with steak meat. Then add loads of velveeta cheese stir and mixcontinue to heat until cheese is melted and dip is hot! Then take some sour cream shredded chedder and bacon strips crumbled on top, dip hearty corn chips in and scoop and enjoy!!!

  11. Actually it started on the night shift then he mention possibly making a cheese thread. I said go for it. He did and I had first comment after him. heehee!

Heehee yeah and it takes less than 6 minutes to make. Quick great taste has cheese in it and only a few dishes involved.

  12. A Texas favorite: Frito Pie

Scatter a thick layer of Fritos on a paper plate. Top with heated chili (Stagg's is good, but if I have some of my own venison chili left over, I definitely will use that first!), finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese and (optional, but doggone good!) finely chopped onions. Some people add "rabbit food" (tomatoes and lettuce), but I don't. Have Tums ready for later, but the heartburn is SO worth it!

  13. I've had that before, but thanks to my iron stomach (courtesty of the US Navy chow) I am immune to the heartburn effects

  14. Since I was a Zoomie, I depend on Prilosec. Still works!

  23. Why is it that many Asians don't do dairy products?(just wondering about the actual cultural/sociological answers to that!)You don't ever really hear of any Chinese cheeses or Japanese yogurts)Do they possess a gene that makes them sensitive to heavy milk-based products? Does anyone have a grasp on that one?
I suppose I could Google or Wikipedia a close approximation of an answer though.

Posted 4 years ago by Tigger #

  24. Yes, they do. Many lack the working gene that makes the enzyme "lactase" that can digest the sugar "lactose" present in dairy products. consequence, tummy upset. Yoghurt, because of the bacterial action on that sugar, is usually easier for them to digest. As is frozen yoghurt, in place of ice cream. They do use the gene in infancy and childhood, but I believe it becomes inactive as they mature. It "turns off".

  25. Wow,look at YOU go,paulajeanne!! Thanks! :) I had an inkling of that, but wasn't certain. That's not in any way related to many of their intolerances to alcohol as well,is it??

Posted 4 years ago by Tigger #

  26. Pro'lly not.

Posted 4 years ago by Tigger #

  27. What is velveeta?

    Posted 4 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_26/05 #

  28. It's a pecularly American creation/abomination/agglomeration. It's basically American cheese softened and squeezed into a shrink-wrapped brick or(horror!) injected into a squirt-can.

Posted 4 years ago by Tigger #

  29. it's a soft pastreized cheese like product.

Some more adds for cheese recipes!
