Get out and vote! It's a big one today. Everyone make your voices heard. I don't care which side you are voting for, just go do it

We voted early. I'm always afraid that something will happen on Election Day to keep me from the polls so we voted last week.

I had passed my polling place last week and the lines were enormous for early voting. I was expecting a huge turnout today and was considering a folding chair, my laptop, etc but ended up just bringing coffee and a book. Well, I'm amazed to report that I have never seen so FEW people voting! I walked right in, no line whatsoever, cast my ballot and walked out. They had cue lines all set up for the long lines that were expected. For prior elections I've waited a 1/2 hour to an hour in line, so to be in and out in 10 minutes is really unusual. For a minute I thought I had gotten confused and it was the wrong day!

LOL - my city went "early voting crazy"... Last week everyday lines were wrapped around the librarys two & three times, people waiting to vote early. Hubby and I just waited til today, went to our regular precinct, walked in and were #3 & #4 in line. In & out in 15 minutes!! Thank you early voters for wainting in long lines so things weren't crowded today!!

Thanks for the reminder, MM! Oregon has gone completely to a vote by mail system. I dropped my ballot off last week. I kind of miss going to a precinct to cast my vote on election day. I remember the volunteers who supervised the polling places announce the name of each person who voted: "Kitten Whisperer has voted!" It made me feel good to have a bit of ceremony along with doing this important civic duty. I'm grateful to live in a place where we can cast a meaningful vote!
