Thanks, Cheri!
Did you get what I sent you while you were in the hospital? I think I wrote about Bobby in the card.

Morning my friends!!!
Does anyone want a FREE cat, he's very soft to pet, looks handsome, but will be stuffed into unnatural positions soon if he doesn't find a new home!!! He thinks that it is his place in life to wake me up to feed the horde by knocking things off of whatever is nearest to my head while I am still sleeping! So if anyone wants him, I will stuff him in whatever position you want him, lol.

Hi everyone! Couldn't stay up to watch the election results. My life is so screwed up that I've divided things into what I can and cannot control/change. Anyway, after hubby and I voted, we went out to dinner. Tradition for us - we go out on a "date" when we vote; dinner then home to watch something good on tv and play with kitty. Had 2 martinis and was snoozing a couple of hours later. Leela was soooo glad to be out of the crate after being there with strangers all day. She gets her stitches out tomorrow.

Come here, Milo. I think you and Bobby (and mamma) could use a break, and George would love the company.
Joan, good for you for recognizing that some things cannot be controlled; I think a lot of people forget that and it causes endless stress. I'm glad you and hubby had a "date night" after voting, that's a nice tradition.
Scritches for Leela, our beautiful grown-up girl.

Oh, I'm glad you got it - It was shortly before you left there and I wasn't sure it made it.
I'm off for tennis practice and then need to go pick up mail at the office and on to the post office. See you all a bit later!Kilroy, thanks for taking Mi - he's a little trouble maker! :)

Cheri, I hope you got my little something. It was TDK pink - I couldn't resist!

GD - I don't know if you saw my post a week or so ago about my cat, Milo, that had epilepsy. Phenobar got him under control just fine. For the last 7 years of his life, I had to give him 1/2 pill a day. He got used to it, and would come when I called because he knew he had to have it. The vet was able to wean him down to only 1/4 pill a day, and he lived a long healthy life (died of natural causes at 13). It's not the end of the world. Good luck

Just have to vent a bit. Went to the polls with hubby last night. It's at a firehouse about a mile from our home. It's also the same fire dept. that my uncle belonged to before giving his life in the line of duty at a house fire in March. There's a beautiful display of pictures of him, a picture of the flag draped, flower adorned coffin on the fire truck and a really nice plaque dedicated to their fallen brother. I guess people must have wondered why someone would leave the polls in tears. It was a really nice display.

Hi everyone. It's just been a crazy day and finally have a few minutes to stop in and say hi.
My OBGYN wants me to go get an ultrasound today since I fell, so when I called the place they tell me, that the OBGYN office has to fax a referral or some other kind of paper...I tell them I have a script, but that's not good enough. So I had to call my OBGYN and the secretary tells me the Dr is not in today and they have not heard of faxing something over. OMG, can someone know what is going on!!! So they are to call me back..so here I wait.Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Yum..Thanks Miu
I think I will hang out a bit. Maddie refused her bed last night so Wayne slept with her on the couch. She is now tired, since she didn't get enough sleep so is Wayne(he has to sleep with a cpap machine which is upstairs) so he didn't get to use it last night so he feels like a zombie, so I told him to go take a few hours nap, but be prepared to wake up if I get an appt.
We are just trying to figure out what the heck is making Maddie freak out at bedtime and it's not just crying, it's not wanting to lay down, not wanting her pillow, running to her door and knocking on it. She gets so upset, she almost gets sick from it. This just started and we have no clue what to do.Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

CM, I was woeking polls yesterday, I didn't know you had a fall. I'll say some prayers that you are ok and all is fine with Fishie.

thanks Kykat. I fell on Monday night, and didn't think anything of it since I hit mostly my back and backside...guess there is more to that per my dr.

OMG, I think I just figured it out. Saturday night she threw up all over her room. Her bed, wall, floor..and of course we cleaned it up and her up and had to calm her down since she was scared of that. I wonder if she now thinks she will get sick in her bed at night.

Very possible, CM, that she is now somewhat frightened of her bed which makes her not want to be in her room. Is there anyway you can change things around a bit or sleep in there with her to show her it's okay? I remember that she got her big girl bed not too long ago, so she may feel a little insecure now and think that it's the bed. Try to find out in a calm way what is bothering her.

poor maddie! little ones are so easily upset when things change and to be that sick that night was definitely a change. I hope that it will workout soon. A thought - maybe you should ask the doctor if the medicine could be causing the "night terrors"? All these medicines seem to have "side effects" now.

I thought about that karen, but she has been on this medication before and never had an issue. It's weird.

things can change - my mom when young wasn't allergic to penicillin but soon after she turned 20 she was in the hospital for something and they gave her penicillin and she almost died - the doctors were so angry that she didn't mention being allergic and were scolding her - she told them she had had penicillin many times previously and never had a problem.

Karen that sounds scary! I'm allergic to penicillin and amoxicilin and I'm always afraid that something will happen to me in emergency and it'll be the doctors first response to give it. I carry a card in my purse saying I'm allergic just in case, although I don't know how much that would help.

learning about child development I think the getting sick on the saturday may very well have made her scared of sleeping in her bed. She is little and at the stage where she dosnt fully comprehend that sleeping in her bed wont make her sick, that the two arnt related. I think Ladykat has a good suggestion of moving stuff around.
I wonder if setting up a cot or something where maddie could lay in beside her own bed while you or wayne sleep in her bed so she sees that her bed isnt scary?
Good luck and I hope all goes well with your doc. That is just silly if your doc expects you to call emediatly and the secretary says the doc is not available. I would just keep calling and say the doc wants to be informed... maby im getting the different docs mixed up. still. I dont think in this situation it is appropreate for the secretary to just say sorry the doc isnt in today. Ive had my share of secretaries who just dont seem to care about anything other then themselves and woe is them. Well try not to stress but do keep calling.

ginirosaru, get a bracelet or necklace stating those things, cards they may not find until afterwards. I know that I am allergic to anything with shellfish so have to wear a bracelet and my son is allergic to penicillian.

I think you are probably right, CM. Maddie now associates the bed with something bad. Maybe getting her some new sheets/blankets in a different color? Or a new stuffed animal or something that she can take to bed with her for comfort? Can you re-arrange the room a little for her? Just thinking out loud here.
