CM, it can change with meds without warning, I could always use percaset (?) but this last time I had violent reactions to it. So tell your doctor what happened afterwards, it might be a one time thing and then again it might not.

i'm sure it was scary for her - and it definitely makes me look at giving medicine out to the family - richard is allergic to penicillin also, and has had a reaction to me taking penicillin just from kissing me, etc., not enough to cause what happened to my mom, but scary still.

I will have to see what we can do with her bed. It's a toddler bed SCG, so Wayne and I can't sleep in it, very small and we weigh way too much :)
She has multiple sheets, and she sleeps with a bijillon stuffed animals....I will talk to him when he gets up.OBGYN's office called they got me an appt at 2:30 for the ultrasound. Yea...so I will be in the waiting room for 4 hours..sigh..but what can you do.
Thanks for everyone's input. You all are awesome and thank you for letting me vent about Maddie and my issues :) Love you all.

Did she have a high fever on the Saturday? High fevers can induce hallucinations. When my sister had a high fever she belived there was a pasta noodle hanging over her head and she was terrified of this imaginary "noodle".

Awww I hope she dosnt stay scared of her bed for long.
Hope the appointment you have later goes well.
I have no idea if this would work, but maby do a sticker art activity right at bedtime where she is in her pj's and there is a paper tacked up beside her bed where she can touch the page when she is laying down... anyways get fuzzy stickers or even sticky felt to make a picture and you guys can all talk about her picture. Might even be an oppertunity to work on her language (but that might be pushing it a bit lol but hey who knows the oppertunity could present itself.)

CM - I'd be willing to bet the being sick on Saturday, the fever, the bed being relatively new, all join together to cause the fear for Maddie. You are being a great Mom.... and yes this is very trying. When my oldest was about 3 he would have night terrors.... whatever he was seeing was not visible to me, and very real to him. It lasted a couple of weeks (I think - that was a long time ago) and then went away.

GR, it's got to be sunny somewhere. Here in So Cal, we have one of those flying shadow days when the sun and clouds play hide and seek with the wind. But winter is coming because Sam and Coco have started to use their round beds, moving out of summer quarters behind the rocking chair and under the recliner. Coco is developing a heavy undercoat so we may be in for some really cold weather. Sam has lost most of his, due to his meds.
If the cafe is still open, send bacon (yum!) and french toast and hot chocolate. Any kittehs who want to play are welcome through the cat flap, too. Cheers!

I agree, a change on the wall might really help. When I was little I used to have jungle type looking curtains. Every night for a good two months I would run crying to my mom that I was seeing dinosaurs outside and they were scary. I swear I saw them too, that's the weird part, I have vivid memories etched into my mind of dinosaurs outside my window even though I now know it's impossible. It was that real. Anyways, we changed the curtains and I guess getting the jungle look away from them somehow made it stop. Hopefully the sticker idea will make her think of fun things in bed and give the wall a different look and feel

Gini,
I had never had an antibotic until I was 47 years old, and was given a 3-day course to take before I had an ingrown toenail fixed. I had a severe allergic reaction - it almost killed me, put me in the hospital for a month, and destroyed my digestive system!! (resulted in a condition similar to ulcertive colitis!) I lost 20 lbs (and I only weigh 120 to start with), they had to put a pic line in me and feed me interveinously for 12 weeks so that I wouldn't drop under 100 lbs. (and I'm 5'8" tall!!) It was awful - I looked like a prisoner of way! Anyway, it's been three years now, and I've recovered, finally gained almost all my weight back, and thankfully have put everything back in my diet. My point through all this is yes, medicine is very scary, and you never know what kind of reaction you might have. Even if you have taken it before - you can still become allergic. Any kind of reaction like stomach cramps (at first I thought I had food poising!), fever, rash, vomiting, can be a reaction. Be careful!! -
I love stickers lol. Im looking at my sticker covered metal lock box lol. It still has room for stickers... *gasp!* I must remedy that this week... :D
I hope the sticker activity helps!

Hi peeps, i'm back from tennis practice and now I have to rush out to get to work - arrrrgh! I just don't have enough time to get stuff done anymore. XBF is leaving town for 4 days tomorrow and in addition to Bobby and Mi and the dog I'm dog-sitting, I'm going to watch his cat. Arrrrgh!
I just got a call from someone who got my name from a tennis friend I rarely see. The person who called and left the message is a dog walker and wants to talk and swap referrals. I'm thinking about calling her back. However, I've been wanting to get some dog-walking of my own, so maybe that wouldn't work. I could see if I referred walking to her and she referred sitting to me, but like I said, I'm thinking I want to start doing both. Hmmmm.... I'll think about it. Wonder if she's like to sit for a biting cat? ;-)

Good morning or afternoon all. Another busy day filled with learning new systems and being more utilized. Yay!
GD, sounds like the dog walking could be a nice full time job in addition to the tennis matches. Get you out of that nasty gym situation. Milo and Bobby..be nice to each other as you and your Momma are all you have. My kitties were wrestling a bit last night. Perhaps our kitties picked up on our "election night" excitement.
Kilroy, glad to hear you and Georgie are finally starting to have a much better relationship.
Chey, what great ideas you have on how to help CM help Mis maddie get over her fear of her night sickies.
It is a windy and cool day with the clouds flitting about. It was cold last night. I am almost to the point of having to close my window which is early this year. Usually that doesn't happen till December.
Did someone say bacon...please pass me a nice plate of extra crispy bacon. I haven't had any in a long time. Mickey D's only gives the ham version and is nothing like real bacon.
