  1. Cupcake, I am so sorry about Lily. Sometimes those little ones just don't make it. She knew love and care for the time you had her. There will be another little one that needs a home.

  2. I'm so sorry cupcake. Lily was a beautiful kitten and you did the very best you could. She was so lucky to have the love and care that you gave her while she was here on this earth and I'm sure she thanks you greatly for it. I know we do. You showed that kitty so much love.

  3. What sad news, cupcake. But you should take comfort in knowing that you did everything that you could for Lily in her short life. Most of all you gave her love.

    I have a friend who has named every single dog that she's ever had Peggy. And she's had lots of dogs. So why not name a new baby Lily?

  4. So sorry to hear about Lily, Cupcake. She knows and appeciates, up at the bridge, the valiant efforts you and your family made to save her. But it was just not meant to be. Somehow, it's always sadder when the departed are little ones. So much potential for love that never gets developed. But there is another furbaby out there waiting for the love you lavished on Lily, you just haven't meet him/her yet. {{{Hugs}}}

  5. I'm so sorry, Cupcake. You and your family did the very best you could for her. Unfortunately, some little kittens are too sick to survive for long. I'm glad she knew love and human kindness through you and your family before she died.

    The one time I've had a tiny kitten die, it broke my heart for some time. I kept second-guessing myself, wondering what I could have done differently. Her tiny little body was buried close to the house; the next spring, I planted a bleeding heart over her gravesite, as a memorial.

  9. I'm so sorry cupcake for your loss of sweet Lily. I wish there was a way I could put a smile on your face as you no doubt have put so many on the faces of others but Lily is now with our other beloved pets at the bridge and will have joy and comfort as she waits for her friends. {{{{Hugs}}}}

  11. So sorry for your loss cupcake. It was Lily's time to travel, I guess. It doen't seem to matter if they are with us 15 minute or 15 years, they manage to wriggle into our hearts and souls and leave a lasting impression.
    Sending you positive, healing energy, but take as long as you need to grieve.

  15. Tell your son that some day there will be a Lilytoo and she may be a sweet calico like her namesake but she also could be disguised as a tough ole Tom named Buster. Because you never know who will reach beyond those bars (from a real cage or the box behind the dumpster) and snag his heart.

  19. CC, I am so sorry about Lily, my heart breaks for you. No matter how short our furry friends are in our lives the always have a profound effect on us. Atleast in her brief life she knew love and care from someone. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

  21. CC, in answer to your question about is it ok to name the next one Lily -- when I was a wee human beanlet, we had two cats named Johnny -- looked alike, and one came along right after we lost the other. Not sure it didn't make me warped, but I think it was ok.
