  1. Dash just curled up in my lap, and as I was petting him, I noticed a lump about 1/2" on his hip. I can't go through this again so soon after Joshie. (Several years ago, I went through three cats dying in two months and it nearly killed me). We will be going to the vet tomorrow.

It is going to be a long night. Thanks for letting me vent.

  2. IB did Dashie get a vaccine there? It's usually rabies on Right and Leukemia vac on Left. My Chester and so did Jasper had a lump there for about a month after vaccination. Of course have it checked out but hopefully it's from the vaccine. [[[IB]]]

  3. Oh Bill I am so sorry! I will hope he just knocked it and caused a raised abcense or somehting that once drained will hip up and go away no more worries and troubles over it!

  4. I'll say a prayer for you and Dashy tonight. Hopefully, it is nothing serious. I read that it's a good thing to hold and pet your animals, and check them carefully so that you notice if there is something different. That way you can catch things quickly, like you did. And I watch my kitties' attitudes, too. I can usually tell when Max is getting sick (like with his UTI problems), because his personality completely changes.

We'll be waiting for an update tomorrow. Good luck to you and Dashy.

  5. BC, I was thinking vaccine, too. But the shots were two weeks ago, and I haven't noticed it before. And I am just a nutty old hippie who worries too much about the ones he loves.

  6. IB sending you positive vibes that the lump is just some fatty tissue which has accumulated. That is not uncommon. Keep us updated please.

  7. My cats got occasional lumps and abcesses. They always took my breath away and I wouldn't feel relieved till they saw the vet. You and dashy will be in my prayers. It is probably a lump from the vaccine.

  12. Ivory Bill, Hoping that its just from the shots and so what's wrong with a nutty old hippie? Some of my best friends fit that shoe, lol! Honestly though, hugs to both you and Dashy baby.

  17. The home team wins: I got to the vet when he opened. He took a look and said that the lump is a vaccination reaction; it's a little large, but it doesn't require anything but monitoring now. Dashy is ok!!! His "off button" is still broken, but he is fine. He is tearing around the apartment as I type.

Thanks so much to everyone here for your concern.

  18. You must be SO relieved!!! So happy it was ntg serious; boy, these little guys can sure cause us a bunch of worry, can't they??!!

  19. Sullis, you are so right about those little "monsters" causing us so much concern. Especially to people like me, who want to become a "crazy cat lady" when grown up.

  23. IvoryBill I am so happy things are okay with Dashy!! This is wonderful. As for the off button, Deuter is 6 months old and he still hasn't found his off button!! I took daughter to the band hall, auditions for district, came home to find the place leveled!!! Deuter Bug and Lissy met me at the door. Everything that was on tables what spread across the floor. I walk to the kitchen and the big dog is spreading the garbage can on the floor. So here I sit on the computer with my house looking like a small bomb exploded chatting.
