These are two homeless kittens that my in laws found on their back porch. They don't have official names yet, any ideas? The black and white one is a boy and the calico is a girl. They're about eight weeks old. For now, they're staying in the basement until we're sure disease free. We have two adult cats now.
They went to the vet yesterday and the vet said they were surprising clean for outdoor cats. He didn't see any fleas, but they do have flea dirt on them, and they are long haired. They got Revolution and their first set of shots. I hope they don't have feline leukemia.

No idea for names; I usually have to wait for personality to manifest, before I can start thinking of names. I hope you find out about the feline leukemia soon - they're too adorable to keep isolated for long! They look like they want to cuddle with you.

The boy loves to climb and seems to be more adventureous. At first, when someone would come close to them, he would stand in front of his sister as if he were protecting her. He always looks at someone when they're talking.
Today, he rolled over on his back as if he wanted a tummy rub.
The girl seems a bit shy and mostly stays in the shoe box. Sometimes she looks at people when they talk, but not always. At first, they were very frightened, but they've seem to be relaxing a bit.
Their cage is kind of small, but my DH is building a bigger one. I have to change their water a few times a day because they keep walking through the water bowl and getting litter in it.Posted 3 years ago by ClaudesMommy #

When will you be able to get the little guys tested?

Soon, I hope! Their vet visit was a bit expensive. We have money problems to begin with. If we were "sensible", we wouldn't have gotten involved to begin with, but even though we've only had them for two days, it's too late now. The only way we wouldn't keep them would be if they had leukemia or if our cats didn't like them. They're both former shelter cats though.
Our local shelter will give us a discount on their spay and neutering.Posted 3 years ago by ClaudesMommy #

I hope you're able to get them tested soon. Perhaps you can shop around to find a less expensive vet? Or is it possible the shelter would test them and vaccinate them, for less than your private vet?

CM, those are gorgeous kitties. You should name them yourself, but if it were me, they would be Hope (the girl, of course) and Victor, because they hoped for someone like you and they won.

I like their names!! She could be Lady Catherine. It is fitting, and he is bro Sweet William! They are beautiful. Bless you for saving them.
