I have an interview this afternoon. It seems like a good job, not exactly what I had wanted, but it pays :) It's a "contract to hire" job so not sure how it will pan out but I have all the skills needed for the job.

Good luck sweetie, smile and let them see your gorgeous dimples. Lots of positive energy coming your way. Shadz has just wandered in and said she will cross her claws too.

Positive thoughts for you Airy. Contract to hire jobs can work out quite well. Usually within 3 months they will know if you are going to work out. If they offer you the position, you can ask them if they will have a date worked out as to when they will be hiring. So if they say well the contract is for 6 months, you can ask if they would be willing to lock in a hiring decision date. If they say they are going to leave that option open, then you have to consider if you are willing to take the job with idea that they might not hire.

The interview went well. No questions I couldn't answer. The woman interviewing me was from europe so we had a good chat about relocating and how different it was here. All pretty good.
The job doesn't have as much programming as I would like from what I gather, and that's what I really want to to so I'm in two minds about it. But it is a job i could easily do, and once becoming a full employee they have great benefits. The best thing is I braved asking about whether they might be willing to sponsor another visa after my current one expires and she said they do sponsor them (depending on the employee, and I'm sure I can make a good impression), So there are future prospects.
Will probably hear tomorrow if the direct manager for the position wants to meet me, and if that goes well it's probably a done deal.
I really want a pay check so I can get my hamster :) -
Glad it went well. Looking forward to becoming a great aunt to a hamster (never expected to ever say that!)

Oooops. Almost forgot. I had three hamster in a row when I was in college, and post-college. Cartier came first. An adorable golden male. Then Pewter aka Pisser, a female gray Angora, and finally WL, a *calico* female. They were all funny, smart, delightful. I adored them all. I have a hilarious photo of Cartier in a 4 oz wineglass, and another of him in his cage with my black cat, Siam, watching him run on his wheel. So much fun! When you get your hamster baby, I want to hear all about it.
I want a hedgehog, but I'm afraid Misty would eat it.

Ohhhh, hope you get the job so The MS's can be grandparents to a hamster. Glad the interview went well and that you were brave enough to ask about the visa. See, it wasn't so bad after all. (That last bit was said in a know-it-all parenty voice) :-)
