  1. I am starting to be more comfortable with the insulin shots especially in the morning. At night when I am operating on two brain cells it is harder. Her blood sugar was good Wed, but last night it was too low. She is not eating as much since going on insulin. We skipped her insulin last night. Now she is on a smaller amount until Monday and will have her blood sugar checked again. We need prayers that we get her regulated to the right amount of insulin for the amount of food she is eating. It is hard for me to know exactly how much she is eating because someone else will invariably come along and nibble when I'm not looking LOL.

  4. I had a kitty on insulin, too. It was a bit difficult to get it regulated but it will happen! Keep some honey on hand, just in case the dose is too high at times. I learned that the hard way.

  5. How do you know if the dose if too high? My vet told me too low was better than too high and I knew that anyway that is why we went lower for the weekend

  7. If the dose is too high she'll go limb, can't move, pees and defecates and eventually dies.

  11. Prayers that Tessie will get adjusted. Last week, I was feeling very related to Tessie when you thought she had irritible bowel syndrome AND diabetes! I thought, Tessie, my sister! as I have both of those! Glad when you said she didn't have the ibs!

  14. Thanks everyone, PJ, I think of you as my Montana sister as I think we are the only two from Mt that post with any regularity. I hope I didn't miss someone. JCAT, thanks but I had to smile at the wee since my Tess is a big cat even though she is skin and bones at the moment. She has big eyes and I think thats all I can see when I look at her. She is darling although the dog doesn't think so. LOL

  15. CTR, anything I can accidentally step on is 'wee' to me, lol... (I have been accidentally stepping on Jasper a lot this week and he is a big boy too...)

  16. Come to think of it I've stepped on Tessie and the rest of the herd a few times myself. I suspect they get in my way on purpose because they enjoy the attention and the groveling (no use in pointing out that its their fault for being in the way) but what I really appreciate is the yowl of you hurt when I know I didn't touch them. Little liars LOL
