I adopted a feral kitty this week. Didn't intend to, she just kind of fell into my lap, so to speak.
Sunday, I went out riding my motorcycle with a couple of friends. We stopped at a gas station and in drives a small white SUV, from which we hear very loud MEOW! MEOW! MEOW! So we walk over, ask the guy to pop the hood, and extract a small, scared, feral orange kitten. The yokel driving the SUV didn't want it, and suggested dropping it off next to the highway. So I said I'd take it.
But how to get this little girl home! One of my buddies made room in his saddle bag, dropping in a T shirt wrapped around a couple of hand warmers first. We checked on her a couple of times on the way back, and she was sleeping soundly both times. My friend claimed the right to name her, since he transported her.

She's been to the vet, and he proclaimed her a healthy 1.8 lb baby girl, approx 6 weeks old. Just had fleas and round worms, which are typical for any kitten. She still gets very scared and spits when she sees human hands reaching towards her, but she's getting less afraid each day. This morning, she only hissed a little when I reached into her cage. Lucky even started making biscuits and purring as I rubbed her neck. Such a lot of love to give in such a tiny package.
I expect she'll be a totally different cat by the time of her next vet visit (2-1/2 weeks).
