Easy-clean alternative to traditional area rugs....

  1. I don't know if this would be helpful to anyone, but I needed to replace my 10 year old area rug, and price restraints being what they are, wanted something fairly cheap this time..I got a "rug" made out of recycled plastic...similar to the beachmats you see made of the same stuff, only this one is like, 6'x9'.."pros" are that it looks great; doesn't "hold" any pet hair or crumbs..you can sweep it, or just run a hose over it to clean..I would think great for those pet-lovers with allergies? "cons"...it is definitely NOT plush; kind of shiny when you view it up close..they recommend a rug pad under it, although I haven't gotten one yet...I think it's great, but I've only had it 4 weeks or so, so not sure how it's going to wear, but so far I'm pretty happy with it...It's probably more suited for an outdoor deck or patio (for those of you lucky enough to have one!) but for my purposes at the moment, it's pretty cat cleanup friendly! (Mark not that impressed with it; but he never had to deal with cleaning the old carpet, so he's going to have to deal with it!!)

  2. I think I have heard of these carpets. I have never seen one though.

  3. Hi CM! I got it on Ebay..I think the seller was "zoukshop" they have all different sizes, even runners, which are quite nice...just not very plush underfoot, but I can deal with that if it keeps me from shampooing a wool carpet every month!
