MR, I would like to add, lets gather up all the auto companies and show them the hybrid synergy drive on the Toyota Prius. Make them look until they understand that every car made could have this very efficient drive and not sacrifice performance. We could all be getting 50 miles a gallon. In about the next two years, I'll be replacing a car. Sure would be nice to have some more choices in fuel efficient, greener vehicles! I have three family members who own priuses and they are plenty comfortable for four adults. There is adequate trunk space for groceries and luggage, they have plenty of get up and go. I can't understand why the other manufacturers aren't going for the same thing! Yes, I know there are other hybrids out there, but they aren't significantly improving the gas mileage over the regular models. Ok mini-rant addendum over.

MeezerRoboto has a very good point about the gas guzzling cars and people being overweight. When I went to buy a car, I looked at hybrid camry and a regular camry and saw that the gas mileage was only about 6 miles to the gallon better. I didn't go look at prius because I had my heart set on the new camry. Well, I have now found out that the new camry doesn't get that gas mileage they claim and so my new theory is the car companies are inflating the gas mileage info on their stickers so that people like me get duped into buying a car that they shouldn't have bought in the first place. I will be looking into selling my car next year or refinancing it so that eventually I will go and buy a smaller more efficient and used car. I learned my lession the hard way.

Ginny, I feel that you deserve a response from me on your comments on my blog. I do appreciate all the feedback, and I feel that you made your point very clearly. Thank you.

Okay, CatSpringGinny. I've posted my response to your comment on my blog. Let me know what you think.

MeezerRoboto, I thought you were a kind, peaceful man, but after I read two of your blogs, I'm not so sure. You seem to propose cutting out social welfare programs for the poor who can barely afford food for their one child (let alone doctor visits), even if circumstances in their lives have rendered them helpless. If I didn't know better, I'd swear you had a white hood and robe in your wardrobe, and that scares the hell out of me.
-
PPearson, I would bet that all the car companies know how efficient the hybrids are. GM even made an electric car, once upon a time. The manufacturers don't want us to buy hybrids — they want us to buy the gas guzzlers that have lots of parts that wear out and that benefit their buddy, Big Oil.
-
Vicki, I can assure you he has no white hood in his wardrobe. We've been very poor. I could defend his positions (which are against excessive handouts, not help for people that genuinely need it), but he is perfectly capable of doing so on his own.
I will tell you that he is a very kind and peaceful man. It just makes him angry when his hard earned money is taxed for the purpose of handouts to people living in bigger, nicer houses driving more and newer vehicles than we have.Posted 4 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

Vicki,
What about Autumn??? We've all been waiting (in two differnt threads) for an update on your velcro kitty. Please tell us she surfaced...Posted 4 years ago by AngelaMotorman #

Vicki and all,
Sorry -- I had missed the update an hour ago in "I'm sad". Well, I am sad, too, and I also hope you find her. She's such a sweet little thing.Posted 4 years ago by AngelaMotorman #

Vicky,
My first response is to say, "sticks and stones," but I've got to be real. That hurt! I've been called all kinds of things by all kinds of people, but I've never been called a klan member. Certainly not by someone that I'm fond of. I don't really know how to respond to that, honestly. I was expecting some negative reactions from my blog, but I would have never seen that one coming.
You ought to know that I'm taking a slant of "feed the poor to the hungry" with the postings that offended you. Even if I was in a position of power to ruin people's lives, I wouldn't still, on the principal of it. Frankly, I've been screwed by ignorant people in power on an occasion or two, and maybe the abuse of power should play a roll in an upcoming blog.
I do feel like welfare money is misappropriated, and I do feel like people could be more socially responsible with the decisions they make, but I certainly don't condone widespread torture of any kind. I don't think that we need to literally control people in the ways that I suggested, I was merely attempting to provoke thought in ways that many might not have previously thought of. If you have misunderstood me, please know that my tongue was firmly lodged in my cheek.
What scares the hell out of me are the politicians in power that are trying their hardest to make the United States into a socialist or communist society, where you will not have the freedom to speak your mind, earn your own money, pick your own doctor, or buy your own property. And, the more I look at people, the more it looks like society wants to just hand it to them, so they don't have to take care of themselves. That's scary. All that being said, I'm truly sorry that you were offended by my blog. Also know that I would also like to see Autumn's safe return.

MR, My husband and I agree that the welfare system was set up to help those who COULDN'T help themselves, not the ones who WOULDN'T. Everything that we have we've worked for and for that I am grateful. Take care of MM, she's a special lady and I care for her (and you of course!) Love Terri

MeezerRoboto, I apologize for the unfluffy response to your blog, which I misinterpreted. My head hasn't been clear since Autumn went missing. The first good meal I've had was last night, and that was Tuna Helper. Perhaps if I read the blogs again I'll get a clearer perspective. BTW, Autumn still hasn't come home yet. Weirder still, a stray longhaired tabby kitten about Autumn's size and age has been hanging around my house ever since before Autumn went missing. Whether the odd little kitty is the reason behind Autumn's disappearance is questionable.
-
Vicki,
I sure am sorry to hear about your kitty, and I hope she makes it home soon. I totally forgive you for any unfluffiness, and let us never speak of it again. MM and I will be praying for your comfort, and Autumn's return. Although it sounds silly, try not to worry about her, and do take care of yourself. Not a bird falls from its nest that God doesn't know about, and your cat is no exception to that. Thank you for that last message.

Now I feel like a total b***h for having flamed you. You ARE the fluffy one I know. Maybe a few prayers to the Source of Love will get me right as rain (and maybe send Autumn home). I just reread the blogs and the one about Jenni's granddad got me thinking about my own granddaddy, who would have been 103 in May had he not passed away in 1988 at the tender age of 84. When I get back to blogging again, everyone will get to know him like I knew him.
-
Oh Vicki I'd love to hear stories about your granddaddy. Once I can, I'll be sharing some more stories about mine. Still too fresh right now.

Vicki, don't feel like a b***h. I'm a fire-retardant model. If it makes you feel any better, fix me one of your virtual breakfast specialties. You're the best virtual cook I know! ;-) I'll be looking forward to your blog.
