Hi there!
I looked up the number you've posted in your thread, and it's for the Archdiocese of New York..Is this who was processing your request? I was able to find St Joseph's of Yorkville...do you know if it's the one located at 404 East 87th St NYC,NY? I have a number for them as well..212 289 6030..I'm thinking I'll call St. Joseph's first, and then if they send me to the Archdiocese number, fine..just want to get directly to whichever administration sent you the incorrect baptismal certificate in the first place! If you could tell me when this first set of papers was processed, that might help as well!
Hopefully we can get some traction on this tomorrow!

First of all I can't find the words to thank you for this. It doesn't matter if you don't get any news, just trying to help me is just increadible.
The phone number is, as you say, the Archdiocese of New York. They have received a fax (on the 7th of October) and by mail the official documents from the Archdiocese of Madrid. They (Archdiocese of New York) have to get in touch with St Joseph's so they can change the name on the baptismal papers and then send them to me! I don't know in which state the process is in. I only have confirmation that the documents were sent from the Archdiocese of Madrid.
Just a call to see how it's going would be great, that way I can see if it is in process or if they don't have the documents and I have to do something!
Thank you again. You have a friend in Spain for whatever you may need.

No worries at all, PM! Happy to do it for you! Thanks for clarifying; this way when I call I can give them the history and tell them time is of the essence..if need be, I have no problem retrieving them from St. Joe's myself and sending to you!
I have an appt. this morning, and will call as soon as I get home and let you know the results!
My email is yoyomeow@netzero.com
(Just in case I need further personal info, we can communicate that way if you'd prefer...)
I'm fairly new here, so when is the happy day, anyway??? -
I'm sorry Sullis I'm so busy with my problems that I haven't given you any info!
I'm Marina, I live in Madrid (Spain) and I have been a frequent TDKer (you can ask!) but due to a new job and the death of a dear friend I haven't been posting much... I'm getting married to Javier on the 2nd of May 2009.
I know this means we have plenty of time to do the paperwork but I don't even want to send the invitations until all this is cleared out!
My mail and address is in the Christmas list but in case you don't have it it's marinaminas @ gmail . comThanks again and again and again

Hi PM!
Just to let you know where this stands from my end; I called St Joe's and got the answering machine, so left a message with my name and phone, and both the name to be corrected and correct name..letting them know this should have come from the Archdioces of Spain via the Archdiocese of NY, sometime early October or thereabouts...It's the day after Thanksgiving here, so very possible that no one will be available til Monday...If I don't hear from them, I will definitely call back Monday morning and see if I can get someone on the line to discuss this matter..so try not to worry; we'll get some kind of answer soon! :) -
I have no words to express how thankful I feel... thank you SO much.
Please feel no pressure if you don't get any answers, just calling you have done more then enough.
Such generosity is a breath of fresh air.

PM, I'm sure she is over there kicking down the door! You know I would be doing the same if I lived in NYC! And don't forget, I have friends in the airlines and can fly there for $100 round-trip and be there in a few hours if need be. Don't be heartbroken--it will all work out. I second the person who said to get things rolling by saying that you can't be married in the Catholic church without the papers and if this is not resolved immediately that you will be married in a Protestant Church instead. It doesn't matter whether that is true or not; watch them scramble after that threat.
Big hugs to you and Javier!!!

Hi Debbie... I am desperate! I really am!
Do you really think they'll mind if a silly Spaniard threatens to marry in a protestant church??I am hitting a wall.

PM, listen to CW. Sullis said she'd be checking into it today, sweetie!
I can't even begin to imagine how frustrated you're feeling...well, maybe a bit. No one here is going to leave this matter alone PM. You're stuck with
a bunch of hardheads! LOLPM, Sullis just posted up on your thread...

PM...hang in there honey..First let's see if Sullis can get any results if not I think we can get TDKers in every state to start knocking on doors at the Catholic churches across the country asking how to get you some results!!!Someone has to know!!! and we will find them!
