I will not touch it! When I worked at the farm we put poison down to kill the rats! I went to work and was cleaning up the dead critters and putting them into a garbage bag. I saw one by the rabbit cages and bent down to pick up the what I thought was a dead rat...well it was still alive and bared it's teeth at me as I went to pick it up! Well I jumped up and slammed my head on the rabbit hutch so hard that everything went black and I fell to my knees all I kept thinking was I was going to pass out on top of the rat! I managed to keep myself on my knees as the world spun around for a few minutes! I put my hand on the back of my head and I felt something warm and sticky, I had cut my head open! I managed to walk down to the house and I yelled for my boss, her husband walked in and went pail white and started screaming for his wife, She came down and looked at me and the cut and called an ambulance, I wound up with a severe concussion and 7 stitches in my head. I will never pick another mouse or rat with my hands I learned my lesson!

Ouch Dorie, that's something you don't forget in a hurry. I think I have mentioned that Mr MS was a shepherd and there were lots of rats near the house I was to move into after our wedding. Before coming back to town for the wedding he laid rat bait around the place, we returned about 10 days later and there were dead rats all around the back door and he was trying to carry me over the threshold while pushing the bodies away with his feet. Thank goodness he didn't drop me. After that it was dead rabbits that our cats left for us on those steps. We moved after 18 months there. I began to worry what else we would find on the steps.

LMAO too - really great stories!
Marsha - OMG! YUCK indeed!
Dorie and MS - I thought of both of you this evening as I struggled through this evening's round of "Chase the Mouse"! Mr. Rubia was out and Tikka upped the difficulty level by letting the mouse go by the TV stand - more wires and a very tiny space under the stand for the mouse to hide. I had almost managed to get the mouse into the cereal box, but then he poked his head out. I tried tapping him on the head to get him back down into the box, but it didn't work. I quickly gave up that approach as I didn't want any teeth bared and I definitely didn't want to end up with a concussion! Hmmm - the tail was sticking out at one point - I should have taken MS's approach and just grabbed the tail! ;-)

The tail is the best part to grab, it may feel odd in your fingers but at least you will have the little darling in hand.
