  1. Howdy, yawl.

Its a little early (maybe), but my work schedule is so crammed between now and end of January I wanted to make sure that this poem that Dashy "wrote" got posted. You guys are great and I love you all.
    .
    .

It is getting close to the end of the year
It is time to remember what we hold dear
All our families; all our friends
The list begins; it never ends.

I am writing as a little cat
And a very lucky one at that
They found me after a hurricane
Indeed I howled at my ma in the driving rain.

I got real lucky; I found my dad
I have the softest life ever had
I know there are others out there
I hope they soon will find good care.

I am so glad for TDK
    The website brightens Daddy's day
Thanks so much to all of you
Who love cats like my daddy do.

    TDK is so much more
    It's a broken-heart rebuilding store
The best thing about it, see
Is all the love on here is free.

My crazy human finds it hard
To play the “I love you, all” card
If he could he would hug you all
(It's easier to hug me, I am here and small.)

There is so much more I want to say
But silly words get in the way
But to all the TDKers dear
Happy holidays and a Great New Year!

  13. Thanks for the kind words. The pleasure was all mine. This is really the first day since Joshie went to the bridge that I really felt like rhyming. Oddly enough, Monday is the two-month anniversay of his passing. I don't know if I was moping for too long or not, but things do seem better now. Thanks to all of you for being here.

  14. ((((Ivory Bill and Joshie))))

Amazing how they leave such a void when they go to the bridge, isn't it? Rarely a day goes by that I don't think about my late-great Spanky, although it's been a little over 6 years. At first, I couldn't think about him without crying. Now, I might get a little misty-eyed but it's usually accomppanied with a smile as I think about how I was so blessed to have him in my life.

Is there any way I could get your home address, IB? Please email me at smeryl at sbcglobal dot net. I promise I won't stalk you or send any junk mail your way!!

  16. Awesome poem Bill!!! I understand how sadness can take away the rhyme and reason. It usually returns in time. So glad you came back to TDK. Merry Christmas to you too and a Happy New Year. =)
