Windi sides up to Cuddles with a hidden flask of Irish whiskey. She whispers in Cuddles ear, "Don't worry - I was a feral, too. And I'm really afraid of strangers, new noises and so many other things! You just have to trust a little bit". She opens the flask and pours Cuddles three fingers of straight Irish whiskey. "Here - this should help!".

Willow gives Windi a disgusted look and tells her that song is not appropriate for Rotley's birthday!!! Willow dusts off a record of "White Christmas" and puts it in the player. She goes to Ruggles, bows and asks him to dance.....

Tessie rather admires Cuddles. She doesn't know that Mewomy kept the vet story from her in case she got any ideas. She is eyeing the whiskey when Molly sidles up and reminds her that with her medications she is not allowed alcoholic beverages. Tessie sighs and hopes someone will ask her to dance

Hopper struts in after hearing of a party. He sees the angelic Tessie & is in awe. He slowly gates over to her looking alittle rugged still from his feral days & his missing front tooth & says...How about you & me doin some cat scratch on the rug? He tells her if any of those other guys bothers you...I'll just beat them up for you. I can, you know?

Willow and Ruggles spy Hopper at his first party! They are so excited that he has chosen to come to Rotley's birthday party.
Willow cuts a big piece of cake for Hopper and she and Ruggles take it over to him. Willow smiles at Hopper and tells him how happy she is to see him, and offers to take him around to meet all of the kits at the party.
Rotley and Windi are doing a slow waltz under the tree lights and are lost in their enjoyment of the Christmas music. Windi is hoping that Rotley is intoxicated with her choice of perfume.... eau de Vanilla extract.

Molly and Sophie watch their fur sister with awe. My she was bold. Molly is really timid and Sophie likes to know what is going on before she gets to involved. They decide to see if they can help Windi decorate the trees.

Windi excitedly shows Molly and Sophie that Emma has trees for every kitty at the party. Then she drags them over to the baskets and explains that they can pick ornaments and decorate their trees anyway that they want to. Windi proudly shows them her tree with the icicles and the glittery angels and the multi-colored lights. But then she leaves them to decorate their own trees.
Windi just wants to be with Rotley tonight. It is his very special day!

Molly decides to decorate hers with little silver balls and snowflakes. It has blue lights on it. She wants to match her dress. Sophie likes everything as she ponders her choices she eyes Bog. Now why can't a nice gentlemanly cat like that pay attention to a sweet gentle girl like herself instead of that grumpy although happier when drunk Cuddles. Sophie is just a little horrified at Cuddles behaviour. She would never smack Bog if he asked her to dance. sigh

As much as I think you folks get into the egg nog a little too much and I have difficulty getting my head around the fantasies that go on here, I must admit you are such creative, clever people that despite myself sometimes I have to admit I enjoy these tales. I wonder if you all realize how clever you really are. I wish I could do illustration because if I could I would have been able to write at least 6 books by now between Rotley's birthday party and the TDK Cafe. One day I am going to sit down and try to paint your parties. Does anyone know who Louis Wain was? He would have had a ball with your imagination. He was a Victorian painter of cats and my absolute favorite artist in the whole of creation (sorry Rembrandt and DaVinci) If you would like to see some of his work you can find it here:

I am fortunate to have one of his books because even his books are difficult to get your hands on now. If you look at some of the scenes he painted you will understand what I mean about him painting your stories.

The kitties all look at the drawings that Petpntr has posted and think that they are beautiful. But they are a bit mystified. How could anyone not think that every bit of this is real? They shake their heads in collective disbelief.
Willow and Windi decide that it's time for the pinata. They tie a blindfold around Rotley's face and hand him a large bat. Willow warns everyone that they might want to take a few steps back.
Rotley swings....

Well..............maybe you are right WWM I have to rethink my outlook me thinks. In the meantime I found a better selection of Louis Wain paintings. Take a look at the expressions. The one I really want to find I can't. It is of a mother cat with a bunch of kittens all of them getting into mischief which I really think is appropriate here. If I find it I will post it. I think I'll go get some egg nog now.

Windi looks with great fascination at the pictures that Petpntr has posted. She shows them to Willow and they both agree that, if the kitties were only black, they would look just like the picture of "Cats with cat dolls".
Willow ponders the picture "Fat Cat in a Restaurant" and thinks that it most decidedly reminds her of Ruggles.

Ruggles, looking over Willow's head, sights the fat cat in a restaurant.
"Could have been a portrait of meself, dear one!" he chuckles.
The smack of Rotley's stick echoes through the room. The pinata explodes with furry mice, cat dancers and tiny penny balloons, and confetti puffs through a hole it its side.
There are giggles and laughter as the scramble for the treats begins. Thor and BooBoo grab a furry mouse apiece, and the youngsters bat at the balloons and feather toys.
Rotley holds the stick, laughing, his arm around Windi. Andy swarms up into his arms and hugs him, and Rotley cuddles his young nephew.
Emma turns the patio lights on to show Rotley her gift to him: a beautiful red sleigh, big enough to hold all the kits who come to the caroling party on December 23. There are foot warmers for the lady cats, and wonderful miniature ponies to pull the sleigh (they will return to their own mommies until the next party), and glorious white faux fur blankets. On top of the blankets is a box of story books, to be read when everyone is ready for bed.
They sing "Happy Birthday" to Rotley, and all the kits make sure they remember where they've stashed their PJ's and slippers when they came, since bed time will be in another hour.

Petpntr nope doubt it! Haven't seen hide nor hair of any doggies other then my own Patches hahaahha and she has long since gone to bed!
Yay caroling Mommy has a good voice well i think she does though she always laughs and says I am tone deaf heheeheh!

KK, always welcome, and late is just fine! Grab some cake and champagne and join us.
The kits are all getting into their jammies and robes, the blankets and pillows are all spread across the floor, the cat tree is filling up and Windi and Willow are holding court on the daybed.
Ruggles starts pulling storybooks out of the box, and opens the one about Jack Sparrow, a famous pirate cat. Rotley smooths one small paw over his favorite collection of Hans Christian Anderson stories, and small voices whisper to each other.
Andy runs past in his new Christmas pajamas and trips over Cuddles. The air is thick with apprehension. Cuddles, slightly tipsy with whiskey, laughs and grabs Andy in an affectionate headlock.
Hopper rescues Andy, and he and Cuddles begin to exchange stories about life on the streets.
"Hopper would make a great pirate!" whispers Ruggles to Willow.
