how do you know if a mother cat has no more milk??

  1. hi, i was wondering if there is any way to know if a mother cat has no more milk?? her stomach seems completely flat.. and if she had milk, i'm not really sure where it would be... the kittens still nurse from her sometimes.. but im not sure if they're just 'trying' to nurse or actually nursing..

  2. Lactating cats have a bald ring exposing the enlarged nipples. Other than that here is a bit on the weaning of kittens.

  3. ok, well i bought kmr formula just in case.. but she does have a bald ring.. so i suppose she's alright.

  4. How old are the kittens? And do they seem unhappy, hungry or ill? Are the kittens eating regular food? If they are thriving, mama is probably fine.
