   I switched doctors a couple of months ago. (You may recall that my old doctor told me to just learn to live with Post Polio Syndrome. Although that turns out to be the basic treatment, the new doctor has been a lot more proactive helping me figure out how much I can do and has also been reading up on it so she can help me more.) At any rate, I finally mentioned to her that I have had a minor backache for many months. I also mentioned that I thought I was menopausal but had recently had 5 days of proof that I wasn't.

   Instead of telling me to lose weight, like the old GP did, she sent me for a ultrasound. She got those results on Monday then called me to get an MRI right NOW, and gave me 6 referrals so I could find someplace to do it now instead of next week. I had it yesterday afternoon.

   I have enough medical background so that I can tell when an MRI is abnormal. I insisted that the tech let me see the films. Until they are read by a doctor I won't know for sure what's in there, but I could certainly see a big mass next to or attached to an ovary. And the contrast materials show that it has a very good blood supply.

   The GP called today and told me to make an appointment with a GYN ASAP. The earliest the GYN can see me is 12/22. My GP is looking around for someone who can do a biopsy earlier than that.

   I'm more than a little worried right now and could use as much positive thought as I can get.

   My prayers are certainly with you CBM! I hope you can be seen earlier. Easy to say but hard to do--try not to worry. Stress could make things worse. I am so glad that you have a good doctor!

   CBM, my prayers are with you. I'm so glad your doctor is all over this. I know this more or less impossible...but try hard not to worry. And remember you're not alone for a second. TDK has you in it's hands and heart.

    My prayers are with you but please ask for a CA 125. It is a cancer antigen test for ovarian cancer, a simple blood test but if it is elevated it may be a sign of ovarian cancer---I only became aware of it because my sister was diagnosed with stage 3A ovarian cancer. It is very similar to a man's PSA blood test. Most insurance companies do not cover the cost, but it is so worth it to find out.

    Thank You SMM, but my sister is now 3 1/2 years cancer free and still fights every day. It is such a simple test, but so overlooked. Any female going in for an annual physical should ask for it, no matter what the cost.

    I hope you can get the biopsy quickly, CBM. It is very hard to not know what the problem is for sure. I'm praying hard that this is a benign condition that can be treated easily. Sending the healing TDK white light to you. {{{hugs}}}
