  1. Hi,
I'm Dianne from michigan. I love animals and cats are one of my favorites. I have four now, three were strays and 1 was from a shelter. I have two srays outside now, I have captured one and am helping him get rid of his fleas and getting ready to get him neutered. I hope his transition will go well and he will be accepted by the rest of my managerie. I also have some coupons for The World's Best Cat litter that I would like to send to someone who uses that brand they are for the 7lb. bags. They expire at the end of the year and I won't be able to use them all by then. I like to purchase the larger bags as I have so many kids. Hopefully this forum will let you contact me through my email and I will send them out.

    All the kittens are beautiful!

  10. Hi Dianne,
Welcome and thanks for working with ferals. I am working with the Balinese breed, but we now have two rescues, too. I will get their pics up on Catster one of these days.

  11. Welcome, Dianne and Shelley. I'm from Michigan, too. Where are you in our "mitten" state? I'm in Monroe, just about as far south and east as you can go without being in Ohio. Keep on coming back-you'll find us a nice, lovable, crazy bunch of cat lovers.

  13. Hi, my name is Carole and I am new. I love cats. I don't own a cat as much as I would love to but my husband says no cats so I must settle for my Perfect Petzz kitty I got for Christmas. I enjoy reading everyones post and getting to know your cat and kitties. I would like to help welcome Dianne and Shelley. Take care and take care of your kitties!

  14. Hi, Carole. Welcome to TDK! I hope you get a chance to have a cat of your own some day. My husband was open to the idea of having a cat and even suggested we get two so they could keep one another company. I don't think either one of us expected to be so constantly entertained by our two kits. He is completely goofy over the one that has chosen him to be her staff! Click on my name if you'd like to see our kits.

  21. Hi Carole, Dianne and Shelleyy. If my typing is off at the moment it's because my hands are being headbonked by Polly who is anxious for attention because I have been out all day.

  22. Welcome Dianne, Shelley and Carole. Dianne, thanks for giving ferals a chance, I have rescued quiet a few myself. One of them was my most beloved...I had him for 19 years, I had to wait 11 years before I could touch him...his last eight years he paid me back 1000 fold by being the cuddliest lap kitty ever. Ferals are just afraid, but as you know they have a heart of gold inside.
    Happy New Year to all.

  23. Tigerlilly, now that is a good example of patience, with your 19 yr old lap kitty. I have one on my back porch, have been feeding him for the last almost two years and tonight was the first time we made contact. Granted it was by total accident, I was putting his food out and he was too anxious to wait for the wet food (1 tablespoon) and his head touched my hand.....scared him for a sec but not enough to stop eating.

  24. Welcome Carole, Dianne and Shelly! You will love this forum, so many friendly people on here. I am pretty new myself and I feel like I have been here forever. :) It's nice to see so many people joining who love animals.

  25. Welcome Carole, from the Moonshadows, a 6 year old dappled black tortie and a not as young as that human who is owned by the first Moonshadow.

  26. Be patient AZDEBRA 5/27, it will be worth the wait. What is your ferals' name? I have a feral that has slept on my bed for the past 5 years and I still cannot touch him, we believe that he had been abused since for the first 2 years after his capture he walked with his tail tucked under his belly. But he is pure goodness, he loves all of his furry siblings and especially nurtures those who are dying (we've lost 5 since we've had him). Maybe he will also take 11 years...if not, we love him anyway!

  27. Welcome! Wow 11 years, that's patience. My feral (named Ferrule) burrowed in my hair the day I caught him. Poor guy he was just so hungry and cold. He's still afraid of my husband after living with us for 1.5 years.
