  1. I just drove to the post office and mailed all of the cards. The worker there said that they should all get there in time, possibly even the ones going overseas since they take 5-10 days.

I found it interesting that I needed special stamps for the ones going to Spain, but all of the others cost the same and were just a regular air mail stamp. It costs the same to mail a card to Canada as to Finland and New Zealand and the UK, but not Spain?

  2. Can I ride your coat-tails CW? I mailed mine today to and they should get there in time. I think I told you guys the rental office lost the box with my cards in them so I had to go out and get all new cards. Well, this MORNING they called and told me they'd found the box, so at least I've got next years cards out of the way, right?

  3. CW..I mailed my overseas today also..All mine were the same except for the ones going to Canada..How is that? I hope mine get there!

  4. CW it needed a special stamp for Spain??? I wasn't told that when I mailed Marina's. I hope she got mine. I had regular stamps on there. Canada was cheaper than overseas...it was 94 cents for Europe and NZ and 68 cents for Canada. At least that's what I was told.

((HM)) Isn't that always the way!

  5. Oh no, HM! That is rough but as you say, you are already prepared for next year.

  6. CM..all mine were 94 cents except Canada..they were 72 cents.
HM...you are already one step ahead of the rest of us for next year!!

  7. They guy at my post office gave me the same 94 cent stamps for Canada and overseas! I guess I was ripped off!

  8. I know the stamp for my other friend (not a TDKer) in Spain was $1.94. I think the one for Marina's card was a little over a dollar?

  9. Well CW, either you were ripped off or none of our cards will make it to Spain. I also was given the same stamp for all of Europe and NZ.

  10. What were you charged for the ones to Canada, TL?

Posted 3 years ago by Catwoman #

  11. I can't remember , but I do know that it was different than the ones to Europe, I believe it was less than the 94 cents. Maybe petnpr can let us know if she got her cards.

  12. I used the United States Postal Service website to check on postage. A letter to Spain weighing less than one ounce is 94 cents. A letter to Canada weighing less than one ounce is 72 cents.

  13. Phew, I was worried mine wouldn't make it! I put three on the one to Canada just in case. I wonder why CM paid 68 cents for Canada?

  14. KW, that was clever of you. I'll remember that as a way of avoiding the post office in the future.

  15. I thought I needed a special Air Mail stamp for overseas. Hey, it's the blonde hair.
    ;-P

  16. The post office probably does sell a 94 cent stamp. I still had 90 cent stamps from last year so I was mixing and matching stamps to get the right amount on. I seem to have accumulated quite a few 2 and 3 cent stamps over the years since postage has gone up pretty regularly!

  17. CW, join the club (and I'm a brunette), I asked at the post office if I needed an air mail stamp...the response: "all mail these days is by mail"!! Did I feel silly...

  18. HM, I had wondered if they'd found your cards!
I have been fighting with FedEx. Monday they went to old office with a package for me but noone was there. Instead of letting me know where to pick it up, I got a message they'd try again the following two days. Well, today I got FOUR calls from FedEx saying they can't deliver the package to the address I supplied because they need a suite number and name of the business!!!! Arrrrgh, the driver obviously found it on Monday. I called them and told them I wanted to pick it up and I did. After picking it up, I got an additional two calls from them telling me they need a business name and suite number to deliver my package!!!! Arrrgh
My other issue was something I ordered online for my dad. I requested international shipping and they sent me back a qoute - $114.00 to send it to Denmark!!!! I told them to forget it, went and got the same thing for the same price at the mall and paid $40.00 to ship it myself. That's quite the difference!!!

  19. Lol, TL!

  20. I thought FedEx had a good reputaion, I had a similar run around with them trying to deliver a package to my home. Frustrating!

Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  21. Yep. It was especially annoying because what I ordered came with free shipping, but since I needed to send it to my brother in Denmark in time for Christmas, I spent 20-something dollars to have it FedExed 2 day. It ended up taking 4 instead!

  22. You know, TL, I was talking to some of the others at the gym the other day, and while the DHL guy was our favorite, UPS was right up there, too. The FedEx delivery guys, however, are always curt and annoyed.

  23. Great Dane guess what I jsut got in the mail!?

  24. Just a thought GD...you know those boxes that are a fixed fee? The charge is $9 and change (used to be $8) no matter what the weight is. They come in square and rectangular size and you can fit quite a bit of stuff in there. You should check to see if they are also valid for Denmark.

  25. Yay!!! Do you agree with Mr. WWM that Bobby looks kinda sad?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. I was just thinking about that today, TL, actually. I'm sure it wouldn't be the same rate, but they may have something similar. I love those boxes and the priority flat rate envelopes, too, for $4.80. Sometimes when I sell a very heavy book on Amazon, it's cheaper for me to ship it that way.

  27. Bobby sad no but milo looks p'd heheehe!

Posted 3 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  28. I would ask, because it was OK for the Caribbean and I also used those boxes when my brother was in Afghanistan.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh, no Bobby and Mi card here:(

Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

  29. Bobby actually looks like he is trying to look sweet and innocent! or coy as if he is trying to cozy up to santa to look into the sack for his present hehehe!

Posted 3 years ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  30. I was thinking the same thing, Ange - that's his "sweet innocent Bobby look". Mi WAS pretty mad!
I'm going to ask them tomorrow when I go mail the present to my brother, TL. I've found this post office in the back of a candy store. Only the old folks from Century Village across the street ever go there and today there wasn't a line at all :)
