  1. He had it. I can't tell how badly he's hurt, I picked him up to examine him, and he got very upset and ran off and won't come home. There's a new orangie in the apt. complex. The orangie looks like it weighs about 20-25 lbs and is wearing a fistful of tags on its collar. I noticed it swaggering around the last few days, sleeping in Tex's usual spots. I'm so worried about my baby boy!! He's not even a year old!! Please pray for my boy!! He needs to come home so I can take him to the vet.

  2. {{{{{Tex}}}}}}} Precious boy - come home!

  3. Oh no! Prayers for Tex's safe return.

  4. All of the rest of the crew is present and accounted for. He's the only one missing, and that really has me upset. If a pair of them were off prowling together, I'd be less concerned. I'm just wild about that boy.

  5. This may be crazy because I'm not used to indoor/outdoor kitties, but could you maybe send out one of your crew to maybe find Tex? Or is the bully still out there?

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  6. It might be premature, but posting some signs around the neighborhood might calm your nerves, if nothing else. (fervently hoping for Tex's safe and rapid return home)

  7. If he's not home in the morning, I'll post signs and do the whole nine yards.

The Bully seems to stalk by day and go home at night. But I also realize Tex could have tangled with a coon, just like Bob. I'm *assuming* it's the Bully, because the Bully just appeared on the scene this weekend, and Tex hasn't been messing with the coons--or vice versa--even though I see the coons all the time.

My biggest problems are 1) it's dark and freezing and b) the worst possible timing...my mom and aunt are here. They...ahem....don't care much for my collection of patio kitties. (They adore CJ and Misty.)

Tex's mom and siblings ate dinner and then left together, I hope they're going wherever Tex is to sleep with him and keep him warm. I pray he will come home tomorrow.

When I discovered he'd been in the fight he was asleep in his bed. I picked him up to show him to mom. That's when I saw his scratches, and ruffled, muddy fur and he squawked (clearly in pain) and ran off. I wish I hadn't touched him at all!! I love him so much. I need my baby boy to come home.

  12. Lots of Prayers that Tex comes home. I know all too clear the worry your going thru when you see another cat trying to bully his way into your cats space. I hope he comes home soon & isn't more than just alittle scratched.
    I've been where your at & know it's easier said than done, but I'll still say...try to stay calm. {{{Tex}}} {{{LISA}}}

  15. 6:43 am CST and not a whisker or whisper of Tex. Of course it is about 32 degrees out and the sun doesn't com up for two hous, so if he's found a den somewhere, maybe he doesn't want to leave it. I've decided to think *that* way instead of going the hungry coyote/innocent teenager route. But I've been up and down all night checking to see if he's home. He has a huge bed on the patio with a king-size comforter and Bob's wool stadium blanket, and a big styrofoam platform under it all to keep it off the cold concrete. Plus an assortment of chairs, should he prefer that view on a sunny day.

I need my boy to come home!! Wasn't I just doing this six months ago?????????? And I HAVE to go to work tomorrow, I have to trust mom to look out for him, although she can't go outside and walk around to look for him. She needs a hip replaced and can barely walk across the room.

Big sigh. I know you'll all be watching for him when I can't. And that makes a huge difference.

  21. OK, good news/bad news. Tex is home...YAY!!!! Bad news...something a bit traumatic had happened to him, and I'll proabably never know what it was. But he's wary of coming in, runs when I open the door and/or window that he uses as his private portal to my bedroom. When the back door creaks, all the cats come running and his head is usually a neck-length in front, because he knows he gets to come in and play with CJ.

This morning when he hears the door, he runs to the middle of the greenbelt and sit there. My taps on the window that usually send hin into cartwheels of joy, make him jump. I did get to look him over a little, and all his injuries appear to be to hi back legs--and they look like deep teeth bites. But why is he scared of me??? He's let me hold him and rock him since the day he was born.

At least he's home. Thank you everyone.

  22. Lisa, thank god. I am so glad Tex is home. Something scared him you might just have to give him some time. I hope he's okay with those bites. Let's pray those don't get infected.

  28. So glad Tex came home. It may just be shock that makes him so jumpy, especially if he was asleep or resting in a "safe" place when he was attacked. Give him time and gentle vibes. Keep us posted, please.

  29. Glad to hear your baby Tex is back. Hope you can find out what is spooking him. It could be that the pain of being picked up has made him scared of you? What do our TDK cat behaviorists suggest?
