Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I have been pretty sick for the last month. I started off with a lung infection, which I'm still not totally over. Then last week I ended up in the ER for over 12 hrs. for what I thought was a bite or boil on my right breast. It turned out to be an abcess and cellulitis. They did a culture and sonogram. I haven't got the results of the culture yet. They told me I was going to be admitted for a couple of days and they would not let me eat or drink anything until the surgeon said if I was going to have to have emergency surgery or not. They finally came around after 12 hrs. and said I could go home with some antibiotics. The antibiotic is Augmentin 875 mg.. It makes me sorta sick at my stomach and sleepy.
I have also been busy with my son. I finally managed to get him to my house. He came last Sunday and left Thursday to go back home for his son's birthday. But here it is Monday and he is still there.:( His problem with the drugs seem to be worst then I realized. I told him Saturday that I wanted him to think about going into a rehab, it is apparent he can not do this on his own, he needs help. I told him if he didn't volunteer, I would get a court order and have him admitted. I don't think he liked the ideal much. But it looks like that is where we stand now. So soon as Christmas is over I will work on getting him in a rehab. Please say a prayer for him from time to time. Thanks!

Hi Scarver! Thanks for checking in. I'm sorry to hear that you have been unwell, hope the antibiotics can clear that up for you. I will be thinking of you and your son. I think you are right; he needs to have professional help. I will pray that he gets into rehab and gets the help he needs.

Scarver, you and your son remain in my prayers daily, and although I know you have a long road ahead, you should be so proud of yourself for getting this far. But PLEASE be careful, you need to take care of yourself first in order to be able to help your son...You and your family will remain in my thoughts and prayers..

Hi Scarver, OMG, I am so sorry that you are sick and having to deal with other issues as well. I am sending you prayers for the strength to get well and the strength to get your son in rehab. My mom had to do the same with one of my brothers. It was not easy, but it was what had to happen. He has been clean now for over 5 years. It can be done and you can do it too.

I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure the culture results will be okay - and at least you'll know that you are on the right antibioatic.
So far as your son goes - the very best present you can give him (and yourself) is to commit him to rehab now, rather than later. He can't get better by himself and maybe spending the holidays in rehab will give him the little extra boost he needs to work on himself. You have to hit bottom before you can bounce back up and being locked away in rehab during this time of year should be an eye opener for him.

Sending positive thoughts that you heal quickly and that you are able to get the help your son needs. I agree that maybe he needs to go to rehab now instead of later. Good luck with all that entails.
