  1. So I went for my ultrasound today and Abbie weighs 6lbs 12oz and looks to be growing well. Then the Dr came in and he was doing his thing and he got quiet and measured some things. I am losing amniotic fluid. Which is not a good thing. So he wanted me to go back to see my OB on Friday for another non-stress test then I have to see him again next Tuesday and he will re-check my fluid. He said, if it goes down to a level which they do not like, I will be checking into the hospital that day and having Abbie! So she might have a birthday next Tuesday!

  2. Wow! Well I know you'll want to meet her as soon as possible, and she's already a good, healthy weight - what an end to 2008!!

  3. Wow! Sooner than expected, but as long as she is healthy then it's all good. (And, you would get her as a 2008 tax deduction!)

  4. It's a bit scary too. When he told me I was losing fluid, my mind went racing..so now it's just a wait and see. The only way that you will know that I didn't have the baby is if you hear from me that night..if you don't bet on it that I am in the hospital!

MCW, you made a rhyme! You are so talented :D

  5. My appt with the Dr. is at 3:40pm next Tuesday...so if you don't hear from me by like 7pm-ish, I would think you can assume I am in the hospital!

  6. Oh my gosh, CM! Take care of yourself. How exciting, but yikes!

  7. Hah! I didn't even notice that. Doh!!

  8. Yikes!!!! But that is a good weight, CM. Excuse me - I must go and boil some water and tear up some clean rags......

  9. I was wondering if 6 12 was a good weight or not. I just want her to be healthy. I called Wayne from the Dr. Office and he will be taking that day off to be with me just in case. Reality is setting in and I am getting nervous!

  10. Wow, I just noticed the weight - if she is already almost 7 lbs. I'm not too sure that you would want her to go full term!

  11. Ohmigosh CM take care of yourself. What is the original planned date for Abby's arrival? Are you sure you don't want to rename her Noel?

  12. How big was Maddie, cm?

Posted 1 year ago by linda #

  13. Wow Abbie just wants to be a December baby I guess!

Posted 1 year ago by Momma to 2 MaineCoons #

  14. Maddie was 7 11 NNGM, so that wasn't too bad and I figured Abbie would be about the same.
Petpntr, the original C-section is scheduled for Jan 14th.
    lol at Noel..

My OB is on vacation next week too so she wouldn't do the surgery which blows monkey chunks..I love her but you do what you have to do.

  15. Look at it this way CM... an additional deduction on your taxes this year if she is born before 12-31 :D at 6 12 she is just in there getting fatter now. :) sounds like she is already a healthy happy baby.

  16. CM please rest until your next check up. It sure sounds as if Abbie wants to make an appearance now! Enjoy Christmas, relax, and prepare to have 2 children in your home before the end of the year! Maddie--time to squeal with delight your little sister is on the way!

  17. Monkey chunks? *puts on monkey hat modeled after the one that 2bp sent*

CM, people have gotten so used to having really big babies that no one remember that 6 lbs is really a more normal birth weight. That weight is fine, gestational weeks are good. If you are leaking fluid, best to let Miss Abbie make her appearance early.

  18. How many weeks will she be next week CM?

Posted 1 year ago by Tigerlilly #

  19. On Saturday she will be 37 weeks TL.

I have to admit, I rather have her in December...tax reason is good but also medical insurance as well! A bit selfish I know :) I am hoping that I do have her next week if I were to be honest.

  20. CM said the original birth date was scheduled for Jan. 14, so 2 weeks early is not bad at all.

  21. Weight is not as important as maturity. 37 weeks especially in a girl (boy lungs mature slower) should be OK. Low amniotic fluid also may cause her a little stress which would also help to ensure lung maturity. Try to stay calm and just follow your doctor's advice CM.

  22. That's reassuring TL and WWM. Now that it has sunk in that it might be next week, I am really hoping it will be. Will make this weekend a busy one..lol. I have to pack a bag just in case :)
You will love the outfit I have picked out for Abbie, it's a pink sleeper with kitties all over it! I have to bring her home in that.

  23. Wow,rest up and take care CM. Stay nice and calm and relaxed.

Posted 1 year ago by Buttercup #

  24. Of course boys would mature slower, TL!

Posted 1 year ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. That slow maturity continues throught life....it's sad really, they are the weaker sex!

Posted 1 year ago by Tigerlilly #

  26. That's because God had a chance to debug the program before he invented girls --- the new, improved model. Good luck and good wishes for you and Abbie-to-be.

  27. I was only 6 lbs 9 oz. and I was a week late! Babies come when THEY are ready, not necessarily when WE are!!! I'm sure Abbie will be just fine, whether Dec. or Jan. !!! {{{HUGS to CM}}}}}

  28. It will be a feet up Christmas for you CM, rest and let Abbie-fish pile on the weight. 6lb 120z is fine and she can only get bigger from now even in a week. Who said the doctors had the dates right anyway. Sad that she won't share my birthday. Look after yourself. {{{hugs}}}

  29. This is exciting news, CM. Abbiefish is definitely "keeper" size! :)
Would you mind letting us know what hospital you will be in so we can see how you are doing on Tuesday if you aren't posting? Does your hospital put photos of new babies on its website? We could get our first look at Abbie if they do that!

Posted 1 year ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  30. Yay, our Abbie is almost here!! This is exciting! Take good care of yourself, CM!
