Night MS! Merry Christmas in NZ.... Good Morning CM, Ron, Deb! CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!! Probably my fav day because of the anticipation..... MS - my family always goes to a Christmas Eve service at our church at 11pm. And we're always singing "Silent Night, Holy Night" at midnight when it strikes Midnight. A tradition, I've been doing for, well I was going to say my whole life, but my parents and grandparents all were members of the same church, so I'm going to say for four generations - cause we've brough our kids up doing the same. Always makes my heart warm.

Happy Christmas, everyone! Good morning/afternoon MS, CM,Ron, Deb and AV!!! I'm running around doing all the last minute Christmas things trying to get ready for the big day! Tonight at 6:00 PM we'll be heading up to village Christmas tree for a carol service around the tree. A bit chilly, but a lot of fun. I think I will be bringing some Bailey's hot chocolate with me!

Hello and Merry Christmas TDKr's! AV, I pretty much like all Holiday tunes, but Silent Night took on a new meaning when my Dad was dying. We had Christmas music playing in the room; Christmas was his favorite holiday. When it became apparent he would not recover, our Minister heard Silent Night and used it to guide Dad to the Lord. It was so appropriate and very comforting. Dad also "said" goodbye to me on this day 4 years ago. Mom had just left his side and I was with him, my hand on his. He suddenly went into Dad-mode and pulled his hand from under mine, looked at me, patted my hand (translating to "I'm ok, I have finished raising you, and you will be all right.") and a single tear ran down his cheek ("it has to be goodbye for now").
Anyway, this is by no means meant to be a sad post. I miss him terribly; the family was lost for at least a year, but I'm so thankful for that Christmas Eve miracle 4 years ago and instead of enduring a tough road to recovery, he chose to be with Jesus, his parents and generations before, a brother, a niece, a grandniece, many friends, and, of course, all our cherished kitties.
Happy, Happy Holidays to all of you! Now pass the egg-nog!
