I am not looking forward to spending 4 days or so in the hospital and the pain that goes with a c-section but got to do it. I worry about Wayne since he has to take care of the house without me for that time. He has to watch Maddie, take care of the kitties, do dishes, etc...his plate will be full. Then also has to come to the hospital to see me and Abbie and do some errands for us...Poor guy.
now he will know how I feel most days!! lolPosted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

It will be a baptism of fire for him, CM, but I bet it will double his appreciation of all you do (and I'm sure he appreciates you very much already)! Four days in the hospital -- gosh, here in NZ they tip you out as soon as they can (mind you, public medicine, always short of beds). I imagine it will be hard to sleep in the hospital but it's good that they can keep an eye on you!

How are you this afternoon? it's only 6:47am here and I am still trying to wake up. I have a bit of a headache so I am hoping a cup of coffee will help.Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

it is hard to sleep in the hospital but I have to say, they have a newer birthing center , so the rooms are like hotels. You get a private room and bath, and they have doors on the outside of the rooms so they can stock up on the gowns etc so they don't have to disturb you. So those rooms are nice and comfy. I was in one with Maddie. I am going to miss her so much while I am gone, even though she can visit, I won't be able to pick her up or anything :( At least the hospital is right down the street, only about a 5 minute drive so it's close for him to visit

Wow, that sounds really nice. When a friend of mine had her baby (a C-section too) in Wellington Hospital, they had to bring their own toilet tissue! there were no phones to ring family and she had to check into a hotel afterwards to get a good rest.
I bet Maddie will miss you too, incredibly. But it's great that the hospital is so close! Will your MIL come over to help when Abbie arrives?
-
Trust me jcat, we pay for out the nose for our hospitals though. I am glad we have insurance but it still won't cover all of it. :(
My MIL will be helping with Maddie. Wayne will take 3 weeks off to help right after Abbie is born and I am sure my MIL will take Maddie for some days so we can get some sleep. Then my best friend in California is coming out for a week to help out and visit. After that, it will be me and my MIL. She is such a godsend!Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Yes, I guess when we moan about our hospitals here (and we do, they are always chronically short of money and staff) it's easy to forget that at least they are basically free.
Aw, that's so nice that you have your MIL and best friend coming out to help. I bet Maddie will love it too.

We have to take our Christmas stuff down this weekend. We need the room..Normally we wait till after the new year but since we don't know when Abbie will arrive and the amount of toys Maddie got, we need space :)
Miu, I hope you feel better soon. I know the feeling of needing batteries recharged!Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Good morning, all! The cafe sure started early this morning!
I'm at the gym and noone has shown up yet. They're doing some filming at nine which is always a pain. I like it when it's quiet and none of the employees and bosses are around.
Been up since six, took care of Bobby, took care of one dog at one house, took care of second dog at second house and then drove to be at the gym at 7:45. I had to buy two large coffees at Panera this morning. I'm so tired. Eventhough Bobby's sick, I eventually had to confine him to the bathroom around 12:45 because he was keeping me awake. Before that, though, we had a nice blankie-sucking session to make him feel better. He hasn't sucked the blankie that much in months, so he really must not have been feeling well. It's always when he's sick or upset (like when he's had a bath or something) that he wants to comfort himself with the blankie.Hope everyone is having a good day today!

Awww, Bobby. We all need comforting things around us when we're sick. Wow, GD, no wonder you're tired. Hope some nice people (but not the bosses) turn up soon to keep you company at the gym and that you get a chance to nap later on.
I have just cleaned up the kitchen and am off to bed. Jasper and Libby went to bed ages ago but they are much more sensible than I am, lol. Goodnight/good morning all, have a lovely day!

Good night, Jcat!
I'm also tired because I had to open the gym in the morning yesterday and got less than 6 hours of sleep that night as well. I was hoping to get a nap in, but with Bobby getting ill and having to go to the vet, that didn't happen.Still noone at the gym. Stupid Big Boss told me yesterday that it was going to be crazy busy this morning - I guess not yet. The SWAT team usually comes in to train from 8 to 9 but they must have gotten called out and called the trainer to cancel.
Noone at the gym means time to check in on TDK so it's not bad! :) -
Morning all! I wonder if SM every got to the ER last night (was reading back threads) or if she stayed home and "toughed" it out. Either way, I hope she got plenty of fluids, and gets better soon. CM - too bad they wouldn't welcome Abbie here yesturday, but I'm sure Tuesday will be the day! My sister had two c-sections, and she said the second one was so much easier because she had been thru it and knew what to expect. Down here, they only keep you in the hospital 3 days for a C, and only over night for a V delivery. Seems like time gets shorter and shorter! Hi GD, Miu, Jcat, SOM and everyone else! Happy Saturday
