I may need your help

(37 posts)
  1. I have not been on much lately, and I feel weird posting this here, but I have asked my husband for a divorce, a couple of times, and now that xmas is over, I am pushing the issue. I'm just really NOT happy anymore.
    The only issue I need help with is with my fuzzies. I cannot take them all with me, and all the places I have looked at only take 2 maybe 3 kits. I currently have 6. If you know anyone in the Colorado area looking for a cat, please point them in my direction. Thank you in advance for any help you provide me. You can see them on my catster page, click on my gravatar.

  2. Oh MerD, I am sorry! I don't know anyone in your area. Would your vet let you post something in the office? Maybe others have ideas for getting the word out.

  3. Sorry(?) to hear the news! Is it too late to keep up the marriage by talking? Please, tell us more about the cause of it if you can.

    I hope your fuzzies get wonderful homes if the divorce is unavoidable. {{{hugs}}}

  6. MerD I am so sorry that you are in an unhappy relationship and you feel a divorce is the answer. What a horrible predicament. I don't know anyone in your area but I wanted to post to let you know you have moral support here. I do hope this will turn out to be as painless as possible for all of you.

  7. MerD I am so very sorry. Are you staying there or are you going toward family. I know you have family in NM. If there was a way you know I would take one-it is just a matter of getting one here. I would be even happier if there was a way to keep you all together. Please know my prayers are with you--this will be rough, but I think you know you have a bunch of support here.

  9. Thank you for your well wishes. This has been a long time coming. I am actually leaving for ABQ, NM tomorrow to do a late second xmas with my family. I will be on and off of here though. He will probably keep one or two, I will be able to keep two or three.

  10. *doing kitty math*
    6-(2+3)=1 kitty

    Couldn't either of you squeeze in one well-behaved kitty with a charming purrsonality and a very small appetite???

  11. Okay wait I agree with you! Split them half and half that way the babies all have homes! Are there 3 he is especially close too? That he would keep and then you can keep the other 3 and no babies get booted into shelters or anythign else!

  12. MerD, sorry to hear that it has come to the end, I do know the feeling. I have six now with the outside patio kitty kinda in/out and can't fit any more into this small place. Wish I knew someone who could help, sigh.

  13. It would be nice if it works out that way Miu, but I don't even know if he will take 2 yet. There is also the issue of Vet care for them, not sure how many I will be able to afford on my own. LV, I don't want them in a shelter, which is why I am starting this search now. I hope to be out on my own by February.

  14. I wish you the best of luc MerD and I hope he will be generous enough to keep 3 so you can keep the other 3! As for vet bills I understand! But at this point it sound like they will only need their yearly vaccin visits becuase they are all older!!

  17. MERD, I am so sorry to hear about this - I know how hard it is when children and pets are involved. I wish I could help, and will keep my ears open for someone to take some of your babies - I would take Ben and Jerry in a flash - they are just beautiful (but all cats are, to me), but I still have Richard and even though he has allowed John to bring Buddy and Leela to live in the garage, he still hasn't figured out how to share yet! Stupid Men!!! With apologies to the Men of TDK! Let me know if I can offer any other help, if you need it - I am only a few miles away. {{{MERD}}}

  24. I am very sorry for you MerD that you are to the point of divorcing your husband. As MCW said, this isn't an easy decision for you. What with my pending divorce, my heart goes out to you over this trying time. I can only offer you prayers and positive thoughts that it all works out. I am sorry to say I don't know anyone in your area who could help with your kitties. Will think positive that you can find a place that will allow you at least 3 of them. Hope you husband will take the other 3. Sending you some hugs.
