Sorry I disappeared, XBF called with issues. He'd told me almost a week ago that his cat had been throwing up and now he called me again to say she's throwing up every time she eats. He says otherwise she seems fine but she is 14 years old. I hope she's okay - she's a sweet kitty. I'm going over there later today so he can check out my car and I'll in turn try to check out poor Misty.
He also told me he's quitting the gym!!!! Big Boss had mentioned not being able to pay him so now he's quitting - doesn't want to work for the guy for nothing. The gym seems to be in a lot of trouble. Before XBF mentioned anything, I told him I'd read BB's blog the other day and that the man is a wacko - he's blaming everyone else for his troubles. XBF agreed. He said he couldn't believe when he read that. Apparently BB has some television interview or other coming up and now they've got that wacky blog out there for everyone to see!
I'm wondering how long I'll keep my job now that XBF'll be out of here?

Good morning, everyone!! I'm back from my Christmas vacation. My trip to my son's was horrible. A normal 11 hour trip took me 15 and a half hours. The weather was just awful. I stayed calm as I drove slow and was so happy to get there safely. I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and let's have good thoughts for a better 2009!

Good morning, all!
Wow, the cafe is hopping this morning. I seemed to have missed a few people, sorry about that and hi to anyone who's around.
George & I had a nice day yesterday; I was sacked out in our oversized armchair after lunch hoping to take a nap, when all of a sudden a soft furry thing wedged itself in next to me, curled up in a ball and went to sleep. Good Georgie :) And later on he came and sat with me on the couch and let me scritch his ears.
CM, if you're around, I'm hoping for your sake that tomorrow is Fishie day! Hugs and good wishes. Tell Wayne he has to let us know, one way or another.

I don't know, CM! They seem to favor family members and Spanish speakers and I've often thought the only reason they've kept me around is XBF. Don't know what it'll be like there now for me or if they'll even keep me. They have a girl coming in for a front desk interview this morning.

Hi peeps! Juuei got rather good marks from the vet - both his sugar and kidney values are good! I told him Juuei has strong support: there is a powerful pray circle behind him! He may think I am nuts but I don't care!!! Juuei feels fine and that's the important part!
I'll buy the glucose meter(?) tomorrow. Juuei has been a dream patient at the vet's so I'll hope I can measure his sugar without any problems. That hopefully will save money and prevent hypoglycemic seizures.

Hooray for Juuei! Hopefully things will start to get regulated and he won't need to be checked as often. It's been a long time, but I recall going through a lengthy "trial and error" period with Gibbie when he became diabetic. We had a hard time finding an insulin that would work, and then getting the dosage just right. After awhile it worked out and I think he only had to go in every 3 or 6 months to be checked. I hope Juuei works out the same way.

Hi, Everyone! I am just back from yet another thrilling trip to Wal-Mart. That self-scanner hates me but I keep going back hoping that I can beat it. Hasn't happened yet!
Now off to dust - yippee!! How much better can things get?

I went to my doctor's appt and everything so far is fine. BP 122/72 so good as usual even for an overweight lady! Will get blood work (lab results) in 48 hours and ob/gyn results in a couple of weeks. The Ob/GYN doctor was the best I have had in quite a while. She was informative, patient, and cheery and spent time with me discussing any questions I had. I wish all my doctors were like this. The doctor who did my regular annual physical wasn't so good (hardly touched me, no ear, nose or throat exam and spent all of what seemed like 5 minutes) and neither was the first optomologist (I had to ask for a new one as the first was rude).
It is warm and sunny here today with temperature of around 55 degrees. Feels more like low 60's with the sun. I vacumed my apartment much to the dismay of my cats but they have gotten over it once I gave Sylvester some tummy rubs and Mia some scritchies. I did a huge shredding job the last couple of days. I shredded the pictures that included my husband in them and boy did that feel good. I threw out the rest that were of his friends at a celebration we had back in 2005. I believe he has them on discs so it isn't any loss to him. It was nice to shred them in addition to old receipts and banking papers that were from 1999!
I need to go take my car in for its 30,000 mile tune up. Dreading what the bill will be for that. I am guestimating around $400. Ouch! Oh well I do need my car to get to work as public transportation would add 4 hours to my daily commute time.
I am so glad that Juuei is doing well. Sending him positive healing thoughts and prayers and hugs to you Miu that he continues to do well.
Kilroy that is good news about Georgie giving you a cuddle session yesterday. I need to turn off the cat heating beds so that my cats will cuddle with me. I went to bed feeling sad last night thinking they only want me for two things..food and a warm bed. Oh well.
CM, thinking positive thoughts that Abbie aka Fishie will come when it is her time to arrive. Good luck with your doctor's check-up today.
GD, I am sorry you are worrying about the status of your job. If XBF is not getting paid, makes sense for him to quit. You might want to do a status check with your boss to find out if all is okay. No sense on working and then finding out they can't pay you. Hope it all works out. Sending some healing thoughts that you don't get sick.

New York actually has a "Good Riddance Day" (it was yesterday) when people can bring old financial papers or any other papers they want to get rid of to Times Square to be shredded. I don't know if they dump the results on Times Square on New Year's Eve, though!

Karin..it sounds like you're getting everything sorted out once and for all! That's wonderful..I hope all the tests come back with good news. Doctors really do give us very little time to get a clear picture of where our health is and where it might be going. My kitties prefer cuddling with Jeff...he's a much less wriggling mattress for them..lol..makes for some lonely moments here though. I bet your babies really love their heated beds and it was so generous of you to give them to them. Maybe you should turn them down a little lower to encourage some snuggling...the little stinkers really do use us as their slaves don't they? lol!

Kilroy, I wore out the shredding machine as it kept over heating and shutting down on me. I still have some more to do but need to buy a new shredder and hopefully one that is better and doesn't overheat. I was wishing I could just incinerate the rest but unfortunately do not have a fireplace and of course that is consider polluting so can't do it.
Just sat out in the sun and Mia and Sylvester came out on the balcony. I started to get sleepy so I came in now. After spending the last five days with getting up when I wake up (around 8:30 or 9am), getting up at 6am was for the birds and now I am in the mood for a nap. I have six more days of being able to not have to get up unless I wake up.

Hi all! I went and had coffee with my friend at Panera and then went to see XBF. He checked my car for me and there didn't seem to be anything major wrong with it. I checked out his Misty kitty and she seemed pretty good, too. She may be throwing up a lot, but she seemed energetic and happy. I told XBF he should try giving her a tablespoon of cooled off peppermint tea a couple of times a day to settle her stomach and maybe try some white rice instead of her regular kitty food for a day or so. (At least that was what I found online this morning at the gym when noone was around).
He was chatty so I stayed and talked for an hour or so. He's annoed with the gym and the way things are run there and would have probably left sooner rather than later anyway. He's starting up a company with a friend and once again asked me to come work for them. I don't know what to say at this point. He's the type of person who's always got big ideas and works hard but nothing ever works out. On the other hand, things sure aren't working out at the gym, either, and it could close down at a moment's notice, I feel. I guess I'll wait and see if this job opportunity happens at all and weigh my options once I know the facts.
After meeting with him I went to walk the "new" dogs, Elvis and Lucy, then went and attempted to walk Shayna who did not want to walk at all and then went and walked Wesley.
I was going to take a nap before going to work, but it's late already and I have to leave for work again in about half an hour!! I'm going to be tired tonight since I got up at 4:15!!! -
Okay, it's 5:30 and I should have taken a nap!!! I have to be here til 9:00 and then run to my boys and then to three dog-sitting houses. Arrrrrgh. The good thing is tomorrow I'm not opening the gym at 5:45 so I don't have to get up at 4:15 again. Also, the one couple is getting home tomorrow and I'll be down to two dog-sitting houses, one cat-sitting house and my own boys.
Is there any coffee? I was late leaving and didn't have time to pick some up on the way to work. I'm drinking a diet coke, but it's not doing the trick :( -

Good evening everyone! It's a quarter to 5 here in Texas, and I just now feel caught up from my week of vacation. Nothing like having to slog through more than 200 e-mails and a stack of press releases to start a week!
The kits were happy to get home last night, and I got some cleaning/organizing and scrapbooking done, too. I've got more cleaning to do, though, before my mom comes over on Thursday to watch some football.

Well, I took Kilroy's advice and skipped the dusting. We're going to take the Christmas things down beginning this Friday and it will just get dusty and dirty then. Cleaning can wait until next Monday.
So I went to Tuesday Morning instead! I needed to find a small birthday gift but instead I loaded up on Christmas wrapping paper for next year.
Now I'm cooking only, as you can see, I'm not really, although I'm supposed to be cooking!

I'm looking forward to a more relaxing day tomorrow! I was really hoping for a nap but XBF kept talking. I still have no idea what to do about the possible job. I'm not sure I want to work with him, but I can't stay at the gym forever, either! Maybe if it's between two jobs I don't like and the other pays better, I'll give it a shot. -
