  1. Can someone please explain to me where the name Fishie came from. I think I joined up here around the time Miu was sending in suggestions for names but how did you end up with Fishie?

  2. Hooray, the internet is back. Trying to keep track of this on a phone was terrible. Unless they have to wait awhile for an OR Abbie will probably be born on the 30th. I think C-sections usually go pretty fast. Oh the anticipation!

  3. I think Fishie was the nickname that CM and Hubby gave to the baby, way back when they first found out she was on the way.

  4. Pet, I'm trying to remember...I think it was from an early sonogram and the baby was swimming?

  5. *steps into the waiting room with the huge crowd that has already gathered there... says a prayer that all goes well and that Abbie is born without any problems*

  6. Not sure where the name Fishie came up, the post was a bit ago, Petpntr. Maybe someone else could refresh my memory. Saw the post of how many of us brought children home and wondered how it would go. But can anyone else say that a group of friends in cyberspace would be welcoming the child as well!! What a kick this must be for the family. TDK, rocks! All of us "aunties" and "uncles" are awaiting a new born life to the world that we may never meet, but through thoughts and pictures and we are hanging on to this new breath of life. What a happy new year this will be! Be back later.

  9. {{{Lynn}}}} Whether we've been parents to humans, or not, we all join in this wonderful celebration!!! I think TDK has taught all of us that being a parent isn't necessarily being a "human" parent.... our furr babbies are as much our children as ever!!! They are un-conditionally loving, and always loyal and honest .... traits we wish for all humans too... but they are just as loving and as fulfilling in need as a human baby... TDKers are all "parents" in a way, and we all celebrate life .... human or furrbaby!

  10. Amen, Abbigaleviolet, Amen. (*Mama pacing the floor like a first time parent here*) Staying in touch! So exiting!!

  11. Cigars!!!! (though I don't think smoking is good)... but virtural cigars can't hurt us, and I'm from TAMPA!!! the cigar capital of the world!!!! ... they are wrapped in pink papers, and say "welcome Abbie" on the wrappers!!!! LOL

  12. I hate waiting for good things but good things are worth waiting for - and babies are such good things! I can't wait for pictures. As someone who has had two c-sections, I know that the actual time involved is usually pretty quick, so once they get into the operating room it shouldn't be all that long.

  14. Oh AV better take a closer look. Those are chocolate cigars. The best kind!

  15. Absolutely!!!! :)

  16. I've had three c sections, and the baby is taken out fairly quickly. It takes awhile to get mom stitched up and finished though. I bet Fishie is already here and Wayne is holding her, waiting for Jen to be moved to a room. She would have had to go to post-op for an hour or so first.

  17. Just got back home from shopping for my brothers birthday and found the exciting news. Glued to the puter as long as I can. It's New Years Eve here so lots to do.

  18. Hi all! Well, Jen left a messege on our voice mail that Fishie was going to make an appearance tonight. They were waiting for an operating room and then boom bang.... A new TDK family member!

As for the name Fishie, when Jen was first with child, she said that the baby was swimming around like a fish and Uncle John started calling the baby Fishie, hence the name Fishie!

I'm waiting for a call from Wayne or even an email. I will keep everyone posted!

    Yea!

  20. Hi, everyone!! I'm so excited!! Woo hoo, Abbie!!!

Thanks for keeping us posted on developments, Terri and Lynn! I remember the fishie naming came from John! Didn't it nearly stick as a middle name?? :D

  24. Miu, you are killing me! And that Youtube post upthread caused some major interest in my house. The purring got them all really interested, but the mewing babies totally freaked them out, especially Nibs. She's OK now, laying belly up on the couch next to me waiting for the news.

  25. We haven't got champagne but we do have left over eggnog and vodka :)

  26. Just got an email from Wayne. We are still waiting. As my sweet husband says, patience is NOT one of my virtues, so I'm on pins and needles! So Fishie! Go!

  27. Is CM actually in labor or did the doctor just decide now is the time given Abbie's size, lung development, etc.?

Posted 3 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  28. Yay, Abbie is on her way!!!!! I have to run and walk dogs and I won't be around a computer. My prayers and best wishes are with Jen, Wayne and Baby Abbie.

  29. KW, CM mentioned sh'd been losing amniotic (?) fluid and that if she'd lost more today at her appointment they'd deliver Fishie today.
