My New Year's Resolutions And A Challenge

  1. I'll support the local animal protection association by donating at least 20 euros every month.

I'll make a will for the animal protection association. I don't own much but at least my home will benefit animals in dispair.

I challenge all TDKers to support shelter animals monetarily or to adopt a pet from a shelter.

I also make promises of losing weight and becoming a better person which I may or may not keep but the first two are sealed.

  2. I have already tonight filled in the forms for a monthly direct debit to both the SSPCA and the Cats Protection league :). Not much, but what I can afford.

  3. We make a donation to Sundance Ranch. A nonprofit no kill cat sanctuary here in our home town. I also do monthly deduction to our local United Way but I tag it that it must go toward youth programs. I love my furfriends and the love they both give and recieve. My hope is that all children find the unconditional love of a pet, sometimes that is lacking in their homes.

  4. Our offices offer payroll deduction for charity donations. Both my husband and I choose three or four charities and funds go directly to them each time we get paid. I always give to animal charities or rescue organizations, hubby usually gives to animal charities and wildlife funds. One of my favorites is a no-kill shelter called Rude Ranch. They have saved over 3000 kitties in the last ten years and routinely house over 100 in their facility. They do great work.

  5. I have donated to UNICEF (a small sum monthly). Now I think if I would transfer that money to animal charities too. I wish I could give bigger sums to more recipients.

  6. I have not donated to an animal shelter before, but I have sponsored a child in Guatamala named Gabriel before. He actually shared a birthday with me which was pretty neat. Every year they would send an updated photo and I could send him cards for his birthday and holidays. I wish I had more money to donate to places, I'd love to help out animals and people in need more. It kills me that I can't, there are so many needy people and animals out there :(

  7. You can help animals by clicking daily on the Animal Rescue site, gini! Doesn't cost you a thing, and you can click as many times as you want!

  9. Okay every year I make a resolution list to keep and full fill! I last mayeb 3 months and then say screw it if I even make it 3 months! So my resolution this year isvery simple! No resolutions. I will not set myself up for dissappointment and failure tring to keep to something I amnot wholey ready to do!

SO no comminments to lose weight here, or to go out an dmeet more people, no more committments for things that are not neccessities!

The only thing I would commit to this year is loving my baby boy with all my heart and soul and seeign to his every need emotionally, mentally and health wise! Nothing more and nothing less! Iam sure I can easily keep that one!

  10. After reading through all the posts today. I think my new years resolution will be to exercise (yuck!) and get more involved in TNR for the feral cats. I've been volunteering at a cat rescue for 1 1/2 years and have really enjoyed it. There are some changes coming up with them and I think I'm going to be involved in a different way than what I do now.

Volunteering your time to the animals is another way you can help them. I've learned so much about cats and medical care from volunteering with the rescue. I don't have much money either but this is a way I can at least 'do something' to help out.
