The café door screams. It is the next day - your spouse, boyfriend, neighbours, even your mirror image tries to remind you you stayed awake too late, drank too much, ate too much, danced and flirted too much.

    OR

The café door calls you by your name. The sun shines, the birds sing and everything looks young and new. You hop around, take a few dance steps and enjoy your life.

The kittens look purrlicious in either scenario. They rest and take care of their beauty to be ready for you. ;)

  2. It's just a couple of hours after 2008 here. I've definitely drunk too much and snorgled the neighbour's kitties too much. (And maybe eaten a little more than I needed.) The birds had better not sing too loud. I'm off to bed.

  5. Hi, all, Happy New Year! (Again!) Had a quiet New Year's Day here, too hot to do anything much. Hope everyone spent their New Year's Eve exactly the way they like best, :-)

  6. Happy New Year everyone!!!
I slept right through the new year. The nurse woke me up at 12:30 last night to take my vitals but then I was right back asleep. Do I know how to party or what??? lol

  7. Happy New Year, CM! I think you had a good excuse!

  9. hi jcat and pika!!
How are you both this morning? I am debating whether or not I should go lay down a bit more till breakfast, which is in 2 more hours.

Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

  10. I'm fine, thank you, CM. {{{CM}}} Oh, no, two more hours till breakfast! I suspect Tigerlilly and WWM would tell you to lie down and get all the rest you can while you can... Are Wayne and Maddie coming to visit today?

Hi, Pika. Happy New Year! How's 2009 treating you so far?

Posted 1 year ago by jcat #

  11. Wayne will be here. Grandma told us to bring Maddie to her today so we can have some "parent" time with Abbie. We have a few friends coming today as well to visit. Yea!! Maddie did really good here yesterday but I am glad she can go over grandma's today. Hospital rooms are boring, even though we have a DVD player in my room and we brought her videos, she was bored. Then she didn't want to leave me and the baby so that was a bit hard.
TL and WWM would definitely tell me to rest. I probably will in a few minutes. I just hope I get a decent breakfast! I am one hungry girl..lol

  12. Awww, God bless Grandma! That would be hard on Maddie -- of course she'd want to stay with you and the baby but I can see what you mean about hospital rooms and a two-year-old. Yay for friends coming, sounds like you're going to have a rockin' good day!

You tell those nurses you need a specially yummy breakfast today, you need to keep your strength up! I wish you plenty of brioches and apricot jam and extra strength coffee -- or at least lots of bacon!

  16. lol pika! I know I will be told off my WWM and TL if I don't rest my body. My incision is hurting a bit, I need to ask for some pain killers this morning. I couldn't wait to share the pictures jcat. I kept thinking about TDK! I plan to take some more pictures today now that Abbie is cleaned up and all snuggly. She is soooo tiny! I had to change her diaper yesterday and it was a learning experience all over again, I am used to Maddie and here is this itty bitty baby with the umbilical cord on and a little butt :D

  17. Pika, that sounds like a really nice New Year's Eve, a lovely meal and an early night (yikes, I must be getting old, lol... but really, it does sound good!) It is too hot and sticky here even to want to eat much, except fruit and ice cream...

  20. Jasper is helping me type so it is not going too well... Ooh waffles! I think I could manage a waffle now that the sun has gone down, yum, yum... I hope they bring you more waffles this morning, CM! With a side order of painkillers and maple syrup.

Posted 1 year ago by Pika #

  26. Pika, I agree, once babies are a bit older, I am more comfortable too.

Posted 1 year ago by cricketsmama #

  27. I an sure you will be used to her in a day or two! after a c-sec can you pick her up or do you have to wait? my friend really struggled and was advised not to.

Posted 1 year ago by Pika #

  28. We're all fine thanks CM, Mr MS is asleep and HRH has slipped into Meegz room and will be making herself comfortable. I should be heading off there soon as Mr MS is planning on taking us to the horse races tomorrow. Never been to them before but live within a 10 minute walk of the track.

    Posted 1 year ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  29. I picked her up..no problem, she's only 6 pounds so she's a little bit of a thing. Now when I go home,I have to watch what I do and pick up. Can't pick up Maddie which will be hard not to do!

  30. Morning, all.

Well, another exciting New Year's in the Kilroy household; in bed by 9, woken up at 3:30 by car alarms and yelling in the street, then back to sleep until 6.

CM, it's so good to see you posting. Take care of yourself, though, and REST!

Brioche with apricot jam and coffee sounds like a perfect start to the new year. I think I'll have that to start, and then maybe think about waffles :)
