sorry to have disappeared, Abbie needed a little feeding. She is doing so well. She just seems so tiny!!
I am feeling okay, still pain and the nurse just came in and is going to give me some more painkillers. :)
Thank you for your compliments of my beautiful baby. She is just so wonderful. Now I have 2 beautiful daughters and I couldn't ask for more.

Isn't it a lovely feeling to not be pregnant anymore, CM? Even if it does hurt, you have all that lovely room back for your stomach!!

Happy New Year everyone! Gosh, all of this talk of Bailey's has given me the great idea of heading to a liquor store tomorrow so that I can make some of the 'homemade stuff'. YUM!!

Good night everyone! hi KW and FH!!
It's weird not being pregnant anymore..I like it better though no feet in the ribcage anymore. I still have the belly though :)Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Pretty pathetic, KW! I fell asleep right before midnight and then woke up at 12:10. Typical, though! How was yours?

Abigail just was taken back to the nursery and I plan to relax now. It's amazing how tired I am and I haven't done anything hard all day.
So did everyone have a great day?Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

CM, I remember the physical relief of not having my internal organs all smushed out of the way for the baby. I remember some nurses walking by the recovery room I was in after I had my first baby. One whispered loudly to the other "Has she had her baby yet?" I hear you about still having the belly! :D
I did the same thing last night, FH. I woke up just after midnight because firecrackers were being set off in our neighborhood. Not much of a party animal, I guess. lol

The first step to recovery/sobriety is admitting you have a problem, Miu. :)

*chuckling at KW*
Yeah, you know you're getting old when the firecrackers go off and your first thought is, "Those stupid idiots! Don't they know that fireworks are illegal here and that they may set a roof on fire?"

Hi everyone.
CM, only in Hollywood do those pregnant bellies disappear overnight.
I remember taking a shower a few hours after my son was born, and how cruel...there a was a full length mirror in the bathroom!Posted 3 years ago by Tigerlilly #

That was cruel, TL. What were they thinking!!:)

Nothing like the amazing experience of creating a baby and then having it. You are truly blessed, CM. Sending you positive healing thoughts that you recover quickly.
I just finished writing a note to downstairs neighbor about his smoking, having multiple smokers on his balcony as well as being woken up at 7:30am on New Year's Day (and weekends). Hopefully he will understand. I have a sinking feeling he will inform the property manager about this and she will come and berate me about it. I also wrote a note to the property manager imploring her to find me a third floor unit away from smokers and the courtyard and will include it in my rent payment tomorrow. I really hope she doesn't get upset with me. We will see.

Hi, SM! I hope you are able to get into a quieter unit with nicer neighbors soon.

Best wishes SMM. I am so intolerant of smoke, it is just wonderful that in CA there is no smoking allowed in any restaurant and some cities now don't allow smoking in public places. Not quite sure how this last one gets enforced. In fact for the parade this year, for the fist time Pasadena had such a ban.

Hi KW! I actually have been thinking about what it would be like to move up to the Portland area. I should try getting up there for a visit soon just to see how it is.

I can't recommend Oregon enough as a place to live, SMM. I've never lived in Portland, but it has lots to see and do (at least compared to my city of 200,000!). Let me know when you might be coming up!

SM--I would think twice before giving any neighbor a note. I always worry about them making things worse than better. As long as they're not breaking any laws/rules, there isn't much that can be done. Is it a problem because your windows are open?

I'm going to get ready to go out to eat with hubby. I'll come back later on. Have fun!

FH, that is what I have been thinking..that it will make things worse. The thing is I feel as though I need to say something to the property manager since when I moved in, I had to ask if the guy below me was a smoker and she barely answered me. In the year I have been here, his smoking is increasing and now I have two other units around me smoking so it is getting a bit unbearable.
Miu, they managed to ban smoking in multi unit apartment complexes in the city of Belmont. I know that smokers feel as though their rights have been infringed upon but as a non-smoker I feel that I need to say something since my neighbors could affect my health. Secondhand smoke statistics state that it causes 150,000 people to develop health issues from breathing smoke. At any rate, I don't want to cause problems but just want to live without having to breathe my neighbor's smoke.

Sorry SMM that you have to deal with your crummy neighbors. I hope it gets better soon.
So I just shuffled to one of the kitchens and got some Lorna Doone cookies, pretzels a huge cup of ice water and a small cola...I am in such a munchie mood!Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Hey CM..get back into bed! The nurses here will be up in arms soon about this. ;-)
