While out shopping I ran across a really good deal on the Pedi Paws for filing your pets nails..I have not used it yet and would like to hear from anyone who has..Any tip or tricks?? Does it work as easily as they claim?? (outside the fact of getting kitty calm)..

Has anyone else used Pedi Paws???

I expect that I found the same deal you did, and took the plunge. It works really well, but is much slower than clipping. It does take more time and effort than I expected to get the cat used to it. Since Dashy is the most hyper and wiggly kitty I have ever known (and I have known my share), the time it takes to get his claws trimmed is the limiting factor. I generally do his dewclaws with the Pedi-paws, and clip the rest of his nails. I suspect that I will use the Pedi-paws more once he gets older and slows down a bit.
.
Conclusion -- Pedi-paws is a good idea, and does what it says it does very well. Expect to spend some time acclimating your cat(s) to the device, but it is a better answer than clipping if the beastie will sit still for it.Posted 3 years ago by Ivory Bill #

I got one for Christmas but haven't tried it yet. My niece has one for her dog and she said the hardest is getting the dog used to it, but it does work.

My mom keeps insisting I need one but I don't know why. CJ sits perfectly still to have the ends of her claws nipped. The nipper I use does it cleanly. She usually only starts to wiggle when I get to the last claw. One in a blue moon if she's not in the mood, I'll do one paw at a time. I think my mom considers me too irresponsible to safely clip my own child's claws.

Haahaa oh really Lisa?.
I have seen the commercials and such but Max gets to go to the groomers once a month so they do it for me!

Don't get me wrong...I think I have to talk to this super-controlling, critical, overbearing perfectionist witch at least three times a day!!! I adore her and cherish every grouchy word. She can read my face, my voice over long-distance and sometimes she can read my mind. It's uncanny. Misty adores her--comes running to talk to her on the phone, even if she was asleep in another room. Is that some sick cat loveness, or what? Misty talks to "grandmother" on the phone. I probably shouldn't even post that.

Lisa, I am not sure what services your phone has, but you should be able to email pictures to yourself (or anyone else, for that matter). Another alternative would be to upload them to the cell carrier's "pix" site, like Verizon's vzwpix.com .
.
At any rate, unless your carrier charges ridiculous amounts for messaging, it would be worth the price to email them.
.
A couple of abbreviations you might need to know (forgive me if I am pitching this at too low a level) are SMS (short messaging system), called "texting", and MMS (multimedia messaging system) which allows you to send pictures, movies, music, etc. to and from the phone. MMS messages can be sent to an email address. Unfortunately, the carriers have different trade names for their implementation of MMS, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
.
But again, your carrier may have a free service (website) that lets you upload photos. For example, The Knitting Ninja uploads her pictures to the Sprint picture site.
.
If your carrier has a stand-alone store in your town (not a kiosk in Best Buy or Wal-mart), the folks there should be able to help you. That would be the first place I would check. If they don't have a storefront in your area, you can call their tech support. Ask them how to email pictures from your cameraphone. You may have to ask to speak to someone in the USA as some of the carriers have outsourced support to India, etc. Most of the Indian call center people are competent, but their brand of English is so far different from Amercan English that you may have trouble following them. You have the right to request a transfer to a tech support person in the US based on the fact that you are unable to effectively communicate with them.
.
This has gone on far longer than I anticipated. I hope it has been helpful; feel free to ask any questions, and good luck. I love kitty pictures.

For what it's worth, and on the topic of kitty pictures, I got a really nice camera for Chanukah. I have just been playing around with it, but I took what I think is a great picture of Dashy that shows his handsome six-month old face to great advantage, and it is on his catster page. If you like pictures of crazy young black cats, check it out.Posted 3 years ago by Ivory Bill #
