  1. ((2P)) It took me 29 years to find this one...all my others were losers for sure! I got very lucky.

  2. well... I'm twice divorced and 53. Not giving up quite yet though. I just know the current man-friend needs to be a friend only. Not partner material.

  3. Welcome home CM!!! I hope all goes smoothly tonight and you transition well. Big hugs to you, Wayne, Maddie, and Abbie!!

  4. Welcome home, {{{hugs}}}.

  5. Welcome home, CM. Please take it easy while you have the chance, because once the doctor clears you, it will be fifteen years until you can get that kind of rest again.

  6. Jen cover your ears! IB, I remember sleeping less with a 15 year old daughter than when she was an infant!!!!!!

  7. Wonderful CM. Please try to take it easy and sleep when the baby and Maddie sleep. I am so happy that you have a good support system.

  8. So glad you're home, Jen. As noted above, take it easy while you can. I know that recovering from abdominal surgery is no breeze. And avoid climbing stairs as much as possible at first, too. That little precaution earned me a four-week stay in the apartment with strolls around the upper level only (we live on the second floor). Talk about cabin fever!

  9. What everybody else said Jen. Take it slowly and enjoy your wee bundle while you have lots of help at hand. She'll keep you busy when they have gone home. REST and NO lifting. :-) {{hugs}}

  10. Welcome home Jen. I ditto what everyone else has said. Plus that little bundle of cuteness is just adorable. I've never seen a baby that young before. I would be scared sh**less of breaking her. lol. The pic of Abbie & Maddie are so precious. I think miss Abbie looks lots like her daddy.

Enjoy resting & being a new mom. :)

  11. Congratulations Jen and welcome to the world little AbbieFish! Poor kid, that nickname is gonna stick, at least with the TDK Aunties and Uncles!
So glad you will have help so you can ease into the "full load". Take it easy and enjoy all this time with both your girls!

  14. Welcome home Jen! It was so nice to catch up after the holidays and see little Abbie!! You have such a beautiful family; you should be a very very proud mama!

  16. *Peeks in on CM and finds her running around doing things that she can let wait. Pokes her ankle and finds that it is slightly swollen. Escorts CM to a chair, props her legs up, gets her a cup of tea and orders her to stay there and have a little rest!*

  17. A belated welcome home Jen! :o)

  18. Thank you everyone. Wayne sat me down today and made sure I was to rest. We decided for now, I will handle Abbie and he will handle Maddie and he said he has taken care of the house for 4 days and he thinks he can handle it while I am out of commission for a bit. So I did rest today. I do have pain and swelling so I decided everyone here and Wayne was right. Now we are trying to get a routine down :)

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  19. CM, no kidding - watch that swelling in your legs closely. If you see any inflammation at all, or if the discomfort (We were always taught in nursing school not to say 'pain' because it puts a suggestion in the patients mind. What a crock!!!)...err.. pain gets worse, you need to call your doctor.

Keep your feet elevated as much as you can.

    Sweet Wayne!!!!!

  20. I am feeling nauseous now..ick. I know I am tired..very tired. Wayne and I are taking split shifts tonight to see if we can both get some kind of sleep. He will take the shift till 3am then I take over. He will get up to take care of Maddie at 8ish. He then said I could go back to bed if needed. I just hope I feel better tomorrow.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  21. CM, please remember that on your "shift" you don't have to stay awake. Maddie has a sleeping routine. Abbie will develop one. I am hoping that she will sleep through the night with a feeding right before bedtime. If not now, then hopefully very soon.

The thing that I keep reminding you about is that you are a post-op patient. With a baby.... Still, you have to find time to balance being a new mom AND a post-op patient.

  22. Welcome home, Jen and Abbie! Sorry you are feeling poorly tonight. I hope you feel better in the morning. Love the pics, thanks for taking the time to send them. Please take good care, see you soon, and love to the rest of the family as well. Love Mama Lynn

  23. I went to bed at 9:30 and I slept till 2:30 and now I am doing my shift. I am laying on the couch and plan to sleep a bit too. I just wanted to check TDK before I went to sleep and fed Abbie when she gets up. I feel a bit better than when I did when I went to bed earlier. Time to catch some more sleep before Abbie awakes :)

  24. Hi CM - hope you are feeling better and get some more sleep in!

Posted 3 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  25. Hi CM and KK. CM, I hope you are asleep right now but if you do wake up, I'll be popping in and out for the next few hours. KK, how are you coping without miniKK?

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  26. CM??? How are you and the family this morning??? Big hugs and kisses to all!!
I was going to call you this weekend, but Terri gave me an update so I figured you could use your rest! How soon is your friend from California coming?? Is she from this area??

    Posted 3 years ago by 2bpurring #

  27. Hi 2b...The family is good :) We are trying to get a routine down but other than that it's all good. Wayne is really a lot which helps me out right now. Maddie loves Abigail so much, she gives her kisses and loves us to hold her.
We have to schedule when Devona is coming out, we think the end of Jan or early Feb. She lives in Fullerton :)
I am doing okay..I did some dishes and took a shower and my legs are a bit swollen so I am sitting on my butt right now. It's Maddies naptime too so that helps.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  28. Geez CM don't let WWM hear you say your legs are swollen. She will hunt you down, lasso you and tie you to a chair. Glad you are feeling good despite that.

Posted 3 years ago by petpntr #

  29. lol petpntr, I know..she will fly up here and hog tie me!

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  30. Yes keep those feet up CM!! Glad to hear you have help on the way!! I was looking forward to twins so I could have one!!!LOL
