  1. OK, I've decided that I have to get in better shape and I won't do it without some accountability. Or a lot of accountability. Like, the whole internet worth of accountability. So I posted my beginning weight and measurements on the internet and have committed to continue to do so every week for the rest of 2009.

Yeah, that kind of lost my mind. Since I love you all, I thought you should know that I am crazy and could use your support. You can even play along if you want. No pressure though.

  2. Jennifer...I'm giving you an A+ for putting in such effort to reach your goal. That kind of strategy really does work for success. And your not any crazier than the rest of us. lol. I would like to join you,but,have a big problem. I'm trying to gain weight & It's damn hard to do when your metabolism fights you all the way. But, I wish you all the success in the world & I know you will succeed. {{{HUGS}}}}

  4. I'm joining you, MM. I just sent you my weight and measurements, the horror of which are driving me straight to an intense workout.

  5. Gosh, I would have joined you, MM. But then I got to the part where I would have to send you my chest measurements and I just don't think that the negative number would look so good...... :-(

I am an addicted gym rat. It took a while but now it's just so much a part of my schedule that I don't give that 5:00 am alarm much thought. I had put on 20 lbs a few years back and I'm short, so 20 lbs made a huge difference. They're gone now, though! It takes a lot of hard work but you'll feel so much better!

  7. Are you starting your weight-loss journey on the 10th, or do you just want to have as many people by then??? I'm supposed to start a 6-week Challenge tomorrow, but I'm so scared I'll fail! haha, at my birthday party last night, I had WAY to much cake and icecream!
But I tried Pillates for the first time, and enjoyed it so much more than Tae Bo and Denise Austin!
I will think about joining you. I have a lot of weight to lose (medication a few years ago wasn't nice) and I'm just uncomfortable putting it all out there. But maybe that's why I will probably fail without the accountability.
Either way, Good Luck to you and your husband and everyone else who does join!

  8. Yay MM! Good for you! Like WWM, I'm a gym rat...(much easier to do when you're not employed) but think of it just like brushing your teeth..much easier for me to do it first thing and get it out of the way for the day..I take classes, because otherwise I'm not very self-motivated...even though lord knows it's a chore some days, there's others in the classes that you'll bond with..and if it's especially intense, you'll have some entertainment value as well laughihg at yourselves in the mirror!!

  9. MM...you mean I'm not the only one on earth that is trying to gain weight. That's such a relief to know. Please let MeezerRoboto know (he's) got a friend in the same boat.
The biggest frustration of all, is I've always wanted to help others by donating blood, but, have never been able to do it because your required to weigh no less than 110 lbs. :(

  10. Meezermamma, we are the same weight and similar measurements, but I am one inch taller. My doc says I'm OK. He tracks my weight, this time I gained a few pounds, but this was muscle (he has a machine that can gauge this), so perhaps you should either, grow an inch or gain muscle and you could still weight the same :) GOOD LUCK! :) Elizabeth

  11. I'll play along, I don't need (or want) to loose any weight, but I have other "baggage" I'm determined to get rid of!!! Count me in

  12. I'm not over-weight by the chart standards, but I know that I feel a lot better when I'm smaller. I think the doctor's office charts are a decent average, but everyone has a real ideal weight. I'm rather small framed and just all around feel better when I'm in better shape. Honestly, I will be happy if I just tone up and don't lose a pound. I've never really been one to obsess about a scale.

  13. I really want to get my flexability back, and get my heart rate up on a regular basis. I was very ill 3 yrs ago, and had to gain back 20 lbs, so I completely quit exercising - which probably wasn't good, but finally I have almost gained my weight back. But now, I feel out of shape, and huffed and puffed walking 18 holes of golf today!!! (I've become wimpy :(

  14. Oh yeah, I'm just looking for starting numbers by the 10th. If you start earlier and already have progress reports by then-great. And I intend to take late entries too. I don't want to leave anyone out that might be interested. It's easier to stay on the wagon if you've got friends to pull you up.

  15. If I were my "ideal weight" by the standard charts, I would weigh around 125 lbs. There is no way that I am comfortable at that weight. So it really is a matter of how you feel. Personally, I know that I'm much more comfortable at 115 - 117 lb. Any more than that and I can feel it.

  16. FYI-First update is up

    http://injennifershead.com/?p=398

I've been swamped so I can't hang out long. In fact, I'm stealing a few minutes while I have company here.

I have actually gained a little weight this week. I think it is because I am building muscle though. Oh well

And WWM, I felt best back when I weighed 105 and was dancing 5 days a week for 3 hours a day. That just seems like far too lofty a goal right now.
