Tonight I was sitting on the couch and Mia came and sat down and started kneading my belly and within a minute or so she decided to make herself comfortable. Well, she fell asleep on me!! She stayed for about 30 or 40 minutes before getting up. I was loving it!! Yay!!!! I gave her and Sylvester some treats to celebrate.

Those 'First Moments' are great. I adored the video on Sylvester's page. Seeing him in playful mode made me giggle. The pic you got of him & Mia together on the cat tree bed is worthy of making a poster-sized print & hanging it on your wall.
I'm with Kathyanne...with ears like those,it's amazing she can't fly. lol. Tell Mia I'm only joking. Her ears are perfect. :) -

SMM ! I too have just recently acquired a "lap" cat, and I love it. Abby always wanted me to pet her, but wasn't big on being held... well, over the past 6 mos. I have really been working with her getting used to me holding her - I'll pick her up and pet her 3 or 4 times a day. She's used to it now, and welcomes it. She has always come to cuddle with me when I'm sitting or watching TV in bed, but always at my side - never in my lab. Well, about the last month or so, she finally decided that my lap might be a good place, and she did the same thing- started with sitting on me and kneeding my lap, then finally settling in, curling up and falling asleep. Now, almost everytime i'm in my TV chair - she comes up and passes out in my lap. I love it!!!! Break thrus are so wonderful! Congrats! :)

Sorry, didn't see your responses till now. thank you for your kind words. Windi and George, make your mommas happy by coming and sitting on their laps. You will find that they are nice and soft and warm.
Mia is trying to become a loving cat but she has a bit of her feral ways from being found alone at 4 weeks of age. I am trying to be patient and keep trying. I do pick her up and she will tolerate about 15 seconds of that. This morning she came and watched me blow dry my hair. She kept tilting her head from side to side as if to say what are you doing to yourself. It was so cute and I wished I had a video of it. If I had gone to reach for the camera, she would have jumped down. Another time.
