Poor sweet Molly. I am wishing for her speedy recovery, and Dash sends purrbonks. I am also hoping that she doesn't get laughed at too terribly much while struggling with her collar.

Good morning, all
I just got a call from the vet--he said he had waited to do the surgery until he had her blood test results. Seems in addition to her tummy problem, she has some liver issues, but right now I don't know how bad. I asked what could be done, and he said he'd start her on antibiotics. He has delayed the surgery until this afternoon, so I won't know much until later today.Thank you for all the prayers and love--I can feel it through your words.

The vet just called! He said my original thought was correct--she had a tummy full of blind cord, along with several other items. He said he'd let me see what he got out of her. She's just coming around now, and Dr. Pelia said I could see her before I go to work (5:00), but I have to leave her there until tomorrow.
Poor kitty-she evidently didn't have any room for anything else in her stomach. She was drinking, but couldn't force anything more into her tummy.
The liver problem was exacerbated by her throwing up for so long, and that will clear up with antibiotics. I'm so relieved she is ok. Thank you all for your thoughts and hugs and prayers. Now I must be very careful that she doesn't have a chance to chew on any more foreign items.Posted 3 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

Sending prayers and healing white light that the doctor is able to help poor Molly Girl get better.
My Mia also likes to chew on things and I found that Sylvester likes to eat carpeting. They both get Science Diet light dry cat food and Temptations Dairy flavored treats. I need to buy the bitter apple to put on the cords of my tv and computer. As for the carpet, I guess it might be that he associates my spraying the catnip on the cat condo and thinks he can eat it. I will stop using the catnip spray on the condo and will just spray the little catnip "pillow".

Karin-
Perhaps a little chewing on the carpet wouldn't hurt Sylvester, it would probably just pass through. But I've known since I got Molly that she's a chewer. I never see her doing it, but I always discover the results. And since she does it so often, I guess her tummy couldn't keep up with the stuff she put in there.
Dr. said he thought he found pine needles??? I didn't have a Christmas tree, or even any plants with needles. He also found something grasslike--but she has never gone outside. He said she was a very lucky cat that this stuff hadn't started down the intestines.Posted 3 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

So glad to hear Molly is going to be okay! If I lived close to you Jimmie, I'd drive over & pick her up myself & take her home for you. She's in good hands,but, the office can be such a scary & cold enviroment for our babies,especially upon wakening from anestetics. {{{HUGS}}}

Well I wonder if Molly will want to change her ways. That bitter apple stuff seems to work. Teaser was a chewer of sorts. Not a big problem with Deuter. The dogs both will chew if given a chance. The apple spray works for us. I am so thankful she came through with flying colors. My prayers are with you as you await the time she can come home!
