Okay, I've got agency kitties waiting for their morning snuggles. There's fresh juice, coffee, other drinks. And I've started the grills up.

Good morning, jcat and siobhan. Glad to see I'm not the only one around this morning (or afternoon as the case may be).
I'm doing well today. My knee pain has diminished some, but I'm loaded with work again today. So I probably will have to duck out soon.
Agency kitties are running around, looking for laps to sit on and faces to kiss.Posted 3 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

Hi, Joan! Bagels and cream cheese always welcome. *throws more eggs and bacon on grill and lets everyone help themselves to all the other goodies piling up on the tables*

Good morning all! Popping in to say hi before I run out to play nine holes. I'll take a egg & bacon sammie (to go!)... Hope everyone has a wonderful day, I'll check in later..... kinda glad I'm not going to be here this morning, Hubbs has decided to start the kitchen demo early (today), so I hope Cuddles can handle the stress. I'm giving her the anxiety pills, and I just peeked in daughters room, and shes sitting by the difuser....... she must somehow "know" that it makes her feel better ! LOL

Hi, AV, glad that Cuddles can feel better while the kitchen work is in progress. Have a good day.

So no power at my house yesterday; the whole lake community was out. Stopped for a $5 footlong and 2 cookies at Subway, picked up Leela at kitty daycare, and opted to go home since I wasn't sure if I would get icy later. I always have a bunch of candles and flashlights and a radio handy, and our woodburner not only keeps us warm but gives off lots of light, so it wasn't too bad. It came back on after about 7 hours. Oh, and playing with Leela and the laser pointer in the dark was fun! Ice was falling off things made the night rather loud.
The drive in this morning was downright treacherous. It was beautiful with the ice covering trees, though. The road down the mountain has several sweeping turns, and I took it easy, with Leela's trusting eyes watching me from her carrier in the passenger seat. Down here in the valley, the roads are pretty much ok.Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Joan, I'm glad you've got your power back. I remember what that's like, and it's no fun.
I woke up this morning with a kitty nose nuzzling me :0 I didn't jump out of my skin ahd he didn't bite, so the day got off to a good start. I got a ton of stuff done before work, including going to the gym, so I'm feeling all virtuous. I think I'll ruin it all now with a big virtual breakfast :) I'll help myself...hmmm...let's see, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, hashbrowns, a toasted English muffin, and green chile sauce over everything (except the muffin!).
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all. I NEED BACON!!!!! There was a breakfast being held here at work and I didn't get here in time to snag any leftovers. The caterers had broken down the buffet and had it all packed up bu the time I got here. So sad as this particular caterer does the most amazing bacon with brown sugar and cracked black pepper and they don't mind if staff have some after all the participants have gone through and the speaker has started. Oh well, my loss and my fault for being late.
Last night for dinner I did have grilled cheese with bacon sandwiches that were absolutely delicious!

Mmmm, GC&B, drool...
I should have taken some pictures today. I was just in too much of a hurry to get down the mountain and to work on time. I have taken many snowy pictures over the years. A favorite is of Shaddo forging a path from my neighbor's shed to my back porch. I sent it to the local paper and they printed it. The picture was called "Shaddo's Snow Day".
Oh, during our power outage, I plugged in an old phone since the cordless didn't work. It's a rotary phone and it worked! I wanted to make sure I was able to be contacted in case we had another delayed opening. When it rang, hubby and I just stared at it! Hmmm, no answering machine or caller id, it could be anyone! When I made a call from it, having to DIAL the numbers, I definately had flashbacks from 30 years ago!Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Guess what. I got some bacon!!!!! I was wrong, they hadn't packed up the food. It was in a back hallway there with paper plates for staff to eat. I also got breakfast casserole with sausage, french toast bread pudding and some fruit. My tummy is so happy. There is also crushed red pepper flakes on the bacon. it is the perfect blend of salty, sweet and hot. mmmmmmmm sooooooo haaaaappyyy.

Hi everyone! I can't believe I am not checking in till now. I woke up at 6 to feed Abigail and I felt a lump in my incision. I freaked out. So at 9am, Wayne came to me with the phone and said, call the doctor. I didn't want to, I was afraid that I would need surgery again. I thought of hernia or hemmorage but I called and waited for the dr to call back. Meanwhile it snowed overnight and we got about 3 inches. So I was wondering how bad the roads are, if we could get my MIL over to watch the girls..I jumped into the shower and then my dr called back and said to come in as soon as we could get there. So my MIL came over and Wayne snowblowed the driveway and we got there about 11ish. Finally after waiting till about 12:15 I saw my dr and she is pretty sure the lump is just scar tissue that bunched up where they tied it. She said it's either that or a hernia, but given my description and what she felt, she votes for scar tissue and I go back anyway in about 4 weeks or so and we can check again. It should straighten itself out. I was so relived. So now we are back home. Maddie is napping and Abbie is too but she is on the verge of waking up for a feeding.
So that's my day so far...Hope everyone else is having a great day!Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Wow, CM, not a good way to start the morning! Glad it all turned out okay. Gotta run again...was just catching up on the cafe chatter.

Hi CM - lets hope its just scar tissue. I've just got into work - after steaming hot temperatures across the country yesterday its got overcast and cooler where I live today and we've had a bit of rain. I'm at work waiting for the rest of the office to arrive. Thank goodness it's Friday - that light you saw at the end of the tunnel was definitely the porch light in my own private hell at work this week!

((KK)) Sorry about that. I don't miss those days at work, that is for sure.

CM, get some Vitamin E cream or oil and gently massage it into your incision twice a day. Vitamin E will help break down that scar tissue. If you have Vitamin E capsules you can even break them open and squeeze out the oil. My bet is that it is scar tissue. But it's always much safer to have it checked!
