Morn, LK. I'll take a couple of meezer kittens and some nice hot coffee. Off to grocery shop in a bit. Did y'all know that Jan 9 is *Happy Dance Day*?

Hi LK & SOM! Ok, I'll try to get the blood going and do a happy dance. The agency kittens are looking at me funny...

Hi, SOM and Joan! "Happy Dance Day"...well, anything for a reason to party.
Everyone must be a little slow getting around this morning. Maybe if everyone does a happy dance, it will get them perked up for the day ahead.Posted 3 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

Hi Siobhan! We've got the winter storm watch, no warning yet, but it usually comes in from the west. So I'll expect it after it hits you. It's supposed to start late morning and continue till Sunday morning.

Siobhan, I think you've inspired me to try a receipe I've been formulating in my head for quite sometime..... bacon muffins!!!! I always like to experiment with that sweet/savory idea, so I'm gonna try it...... my thoughts are using a "cornbread" type base, with bacon, cheese, and fresh sage among other flavors. I'll post it if it turns out good!!!

AGV those sound really good! I'll taste test a couple for you this morning! mmmmmmm These are delicious!
It is a cold but clear day down here in the Heartland and TGIF!!!!! My kits wanted this morning to be Caturday and my alarm cat left me sleeping. Thank goodness for hubby waking me up!

Hi, to those just joining us. We're expecting rain, freezing rain, and snow between 3 this afternoon and early tomorrow morning. I just hope the weathermen are a little off on this report. We've had such crappy weather this winter already.

Good Morning everyone!!! Thank you LK for opening the cafe...I have been shirking my cafe duties and I do apologize.
We are expecting a huge snow storm this afternoon into tomorrow night. Not looking forward to that. It's already freezing cold and we have about 2-3 inches on the ground already.

All the time Siobhan. Somedays it feels like I could just eat the world and it wouldn't be enough. I skipped breakfast this morning so I am going to get a cup of coffee and put some hot chocolate powder in it and have a faux mocha latte. That sould do me until lunch.

Good morning, Everyone! For those of you with snow, I wish that we could trade just a bit of weather. It's supposed to be nearly 80 here today but a cold front is on the way for tomorrow.
Siobhan, I posted a recipe yesterday for Bacon Apple Pie. But now I can't remember what thread it was :-( It was one where you asked if anyone had heard of it.
Well, I'm off to go and visit an assisted living center with my best friend. Hopefully she isn't planning to have me admitted.... She's going to have to move her aging parents here and has asked me to go and talk to these people with her.

Hi WWM - ironic that you mentioned the Bacon Apple Pie, I was looking for it this morning too. I saw the thread yesterday but didn't get a chance to look at it.
Let us know if you change your address, tee-hee!Posted 3 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

Well, it depends on if the food is good there, Joan! Mr. WWM can come and visit me - just think, no cooking, no cleaning..... bingo everyday.....

Morning, all!
Bobby was bad again last night :( I spent quite a lot of time in the bathroom and I was in and out of bed about 10 times - arrrrgh! I did stay in me until 0:00 though which is rare and that was nice.
At noon I'm meeting two friends for lunch. We're going to Smokey Bones which they really like - I'm not a fan of the place, but the company will be good. -
WWM, have your friend also look on the Medicare website to see any violations on any centers she looks at. That's how I checked a few nursing homes for my mom and how many and what violations they had.
I know the feeling GD of getting up all the time in the middle of the night..lol. I am a walking zombie anymore :) At least you will have a good time at lunch. I love smokey bones...their chicken is awesome..I used to get the ribs until I tried the chicken and was just floored by how good it was.

Oh, baked potatoes...loaded with lots of stuff...yum! Jason's Deli near us at work has gigantic baked potatoes with different toppings. They are definitely a meal by themselves.
Siobhan, there are days when I just can't seem to get filled up. And the worst is that I can't seem to find anything that satisfies the food craving.Posted 3 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

Doing 'happy dance' just becaue it's the day to do it. Did Hula dance last night LOL
I really haven't anything to dance about. Last conversation with man-friend was Jan 1. We traded voice messages (1 each) on Jan 4. Haven't heard from him since. And no, I have not called him either. Wondering if he is still man-friend???
-
2P, *puts on Ann Landers hat* - manfriend wasn't much company anyway. I say find a new one!
CM, we have so few retirement villages and homes here that word of mouth (small city!) pretty much let's you know any assisted living facilities that are questionable. I'm just going along as the "visiting nurse" because my friend gets totally confused about Medicare vs Medicaid, etc. And because I've been down this road myself. It's a hard decision to have to relocate your aging parents to a new city where they don't know anyone. But they are currently in their own home and no one lives anywhere near them. They should not be living in an independent setting but it's not going to be easy.
Wii bowling???? I could hurt myself!!! And I'm going to be very careful not to wear any Ben-Gay when I go because you know those old men think that's a total turn-on perfume!

WWM - a.k.a. Ann Landers - I think you are right. Dear Abby has a line that I just love... and it was acutally used today in her column.
"So my question to you is, do you think you're better off with him or without him -- and is this the way you plan to live the rest of your life?"
-
Well, see - that's why she makes the big bucks! It is a very good question, though.
You need to come here and we'll find you a nice Texan!

*starts looking for a handsome Texas oil man* Oh, wait - the price of oil isn't too good now. *revises search to a ruggedly handsome Texas rancher*
