*grins at CM* - it was great to actually speak to you, hear your voice! I was very excited, which is why I probably came over as a babbling idiot!! :o)

  8. Oh yea Pika..we are good..we have milk, bread and baby formula..lol we are good.
Once it stops we will shovel it all and the main roads will be clear. Our street will be icky but it will be okay.

  9. i can't imagine ever having to shovel snow!! no shovelling for you tho obviously! lol.

Posted 3 years ago by Pika #

  10. LOL, MCW - isn't that just the weirdest story (for anyone going "Huh?", a doctor in New York is divorcing his wife and wants her to either return the kidney he donated to her or pay him a ton of money).

I was going to get all sorts of things done this weekend, but if it's going to snow I probably won't (boo). I will try to get to the gym, but a couple of years ago I was on my way there early in the morning and went *** over teakettle on black ice on the sidewalk. If it's slippery out, all bets are off.

    Stay safe, everyone.

Posted 3 years ago by Kilroy #

  11. you too kilroy. i fell on black ice here a few weeks back and spent 5 days barely able to breathe from bruised ribs!! too old to be falling over nowadays!

  12. We're meant to be coming to the end of our cold snap here in the next few days, back to the traditional wet & windy winter weather we know and love...

I've got a stack of work to do tomorrow, meaning Mum will come round to see Bones on Sunday this weekend. We've just been out to a local pub for a bite to eat, two main meals for £10, not bad!

  13. Hey Pika, think you're younger than me & Kilroy (two founder members of the forever 39 club), don't be saying you're too old!!!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  14. kilroy, you be safe and warm too!!
Pika,I am sure will use the snowblower on the driveway and sidewalks. I tried to shovel once and my asthma kicked in and I quit right away.
wow MCW that is pretty good price for 2 meals. I plan to make spaghetti with meat sauce tonight. I wish we could eat out...I just don't feel like making anything...

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  15. ahem...as a previous member of the 39 and younger club...40's not sooo bad :)

  27. KyKat, I do enjoy the weather actually. I have no citrus trees in my yard but have friends who do and they share.

  28. Ann Landers is dead??? Why am I always the last to know these things???

Well, my visit to the assisted living facility and the nursing home that is also there was... interesting. The food looked....soft. My friend is so confused. We have an assisted living here that is new and very pretty. But, in my nursing opinion, not too resident oriented. The place we went today isn't nearly so fancy but I was impressed with the way the staff interacted with the residents, and I liked their staffing policies much better. She's is swayed by pretty. I think that the care is more important. It must be her decision, though. And either way, her parents will think that she is "the evil child" for making them move.

Hey, it's Friday!!! And it's almost martini time!!!!!

Posted 3 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  29. Care over pretty 100%. Your friend has my empathy WWM. Will her parents get to see either place themselves?

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  30. Probably not, MCW. They live about 11 hours from here in a town that they have lived in pretty much forever. Oh, it's Kathy's parents - I keep forgetting that you met her! Now she has to bring them here where they don't know anyone, don't know the city, don't know the doctors. Well, you know that drill. There are just no easy decisions in cases like this.
