   I was sitting relaxing and then all of a sudden I hear a flurry of cat paws and claws out on the balcony and then Mia comes flying in. I go out and do not see Sylvester but I see a tail going into the bushes down on the front steps which is about 10 or 12 feet down. I call his name and I hear a weak meow down in the bushes. I go running down there and call him and he answers again with a weak meow. I look under a bush and find him there. I take him back to my apartment and watch him walk around. He was first favoring his front right paw and limping and now his left front paw. When I went to pick him up, he meowed. I am really concerned about him.

   Any suggestions? I am thinking to watch and see how he is during the night and then in the morning. If he is still favoring his paws, I might call in to the office and take him to the vet. He is currently sitting in his cat carrier right now and seems in pain as he refused his treats and is very subdued. I am very scared right now.

   Please send some healing white light and prayers to him please.

   SMM, breathe deep, and I mean deep, mom, your baby needs you to be calm so he can be calm. Watch him tonight. I bet he just took a big jump and scared himself. I know you're anxious for him!

   Poor Sylvester, he may be in shock. I have never had one fall like that, would probably watch him myself and see how it goes. SMM, maybe someone else with more knowledge than me will come on soon. {{{hugs to both of you}}}

   I am wondering if something or someone spooked Mia while she was sitting on balcony railing and knocked Sylvester down or he tried to jump over to the front door overhand and missed. This is the second time he has fallen (first time he jumped to the overhang and tried to jump back and missed).

   He probably is in shock. My poor cat! I am scared that he could have some sort of internal injury. He meowed when I tried to pick him up.

   SMM, try to be calm,I am no vet but I have heard if their pupils are very dilated it indicates something can be wrong. Go check him and maybe set your alarm to check him again tonight. One of my kitties was favoring a leg after a 2 day disappearance and it took him a couple months to completely stop favoring the leg. Otherwise he was fine. I made a special bed of plush blankies next to mine and checked him throughout the night, I think we were both scared! Everything turned out okay, just keep him in your room if you can and check on him then call the vet in the morning if he is not himself. You have my prayers of course!{{{HUGS}}}

   SMM call a help line or a and emergency clinic! If he has fallen twice now and he is in pain or even shock it can be serious and go down hill quick with shock involved!

   And just my thoughts no more unsupervised balcony trips!

   How's your sweety Sylvester Karin? I hope he's just alittle shook up & nothing more. He seems to be a risk taker these days. Please keep us posted as to how he's doing. {{{HUGS}}} & more {{{HUGS}}} for you. Give Sylvester a gentle cuddle for me & Mia a petting. I hope your calming down some & not so stressed.

    Karin, hugs to you and Sylvester, and healing white light to your boy. Sounds like he might have hurt/jarred one or both of his front feet/legs. I would be surprised if he had internal injuries as cats really are designed to land on their feet; however he might well have hurt his poor legs. I agree with everyone's advice, keep a close eye on him and if you're still concerned in the morning, and he still seems in pain/shock and is off his food, then a trip to the vet and an x-ray might be a good idea.

    That had to be very frightening, Karin. I hope you wake up this morning to find that Sylvester isn't badly hurt. I'm sure you're very worried. And there is a possibility of internal injuries. Maybe the best thing to do would be just to have him checked over by your vet. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Sylvester.

    Hi all, thanks for the prayers and all. Last night after Sylvester's fall, I called the emergency vet clinic and they had said that because he wasn't holding his paw off of the ground but in fact using it, that I should watch him to see how he was in the morning. I set my alarm so I got up around 2am and he was doing okay as he drank some water from my cup and ate 3-4 pieces of the science diet dry food. This morning, he seemed better and we had our morning love session with him purring. I did notice that when he jumped down from the bathroom sink that he stumbled so I decided to make a vet appt with our regular vet. I got him an appt at 10am and the vet decided that due to his flinching when trying to stretch out his front paws and trying to turn his neck, that she wanted to sedated him to do some x-rays of his chest, front legs and was going to do a blood work as they have to make sure he is okay enough to be sedated and will check his kidneys too. I left him at the vet and will pick him up on my way home. I am going to see about taking a half day off of work since I spent 2 1/2 hours this morning and will need to leave by no later than 4:30pm to go pick him up since the vet closes at 6pm and I do not want to leave him overnight. He wouldn't be happy and neither would I. I said a prayer to the Blessed Mother to look over Sylvester while he is at the vets and that he is okay. The vet said that Sylvester is trying to use up his 9 lives. I said he has used two of them now. He will not be allowed on the balcony when it is dark now as this the time of day when it happened both times nor will he go out there unsupervised.

    Please say some prayers and send some more healing white light. I was crying a little on the way back to work and am feeling very concerned right now.
