This morning we started out at 29 degrees, but we are at a balmy 45 degrees now! CR good to see you--althought I am afraid of you getting frostbite! Please stay warm so you can help with my sanity!

No shoe throwing but it's 28C(82.4F) outside and 24C(75.2F) inside. I was pruning the grapes back so they could ripen and it took me 8 minutes but now the back of my neck is a wee bit burnt. It's 2pm.

Being of fair skin and freckled I normally keep out of the sun but the grapes just had to be pruned and it was way too hot to wear a long sleeved shirt. We also picked all the nectarines this morning and the plums will be ripe next week.

Aha, just as I do through you when you have summer. I must admit I am really missing my daily cup of homemade soup though. Just might make a bowl of Gazpachocado soup for dinner tonight. Also picked several large scallopini that we'll have for dinner.

My thermometer says 18 degrees outside my back door in Newport News. Not looking forward to going to work down by the water where it is always windy!

Don't hate me...it was high 70's here all day!! I'm still jealous of Cyndid and Jen who are in my beloved Boston.

Its 51F aka 10.5C @ 3.04 am here and the sky is clear as it can be with loads of stars.

Jcat, I envy you the clear night sky. When we lived beside lake Taupo and Mr MS fished at night I would lie on my back and watch the stars and look for satellites going over. Not impossible here but not as enjoyable as it could be. It's still 23C (73F) inside tonight and about 20C(68F) outside at 11.15pm.

Morning Marnet, I like the 'balmy' part of the description.....thats the reason I don't live in places north of the southwest US.
jcat, I love the night sky. The only thing I miss working the swing shift (4 pm to midnight) was sitting outside after work and watching the falling stars shooting thru the sky. Working mids I see some on the way to work but then I am inside the prime times of seeing them :(

Brrrrrr, thankfully we don't get that low even in mid winter. Marnet, what form of heating do you use?

I haven't looked at the sky tonight, was outside earlier watching Shadz chasing crickets on the lawn. She's inside now and not in a good mood with me as I've just given her her tablet.

Marnet, I know, friends of mine who use propane are having a rough time with the prices of gas even here in AZ. I can only imagine whats happening in the rest of the U.S.

We use a wood fire burner for heating in winter and I also cook on the top of it. If I don't light the fire we use an electric heater. In fact I'm expecting a truckload of firewood to be delivered soon, like to get it early so I know it is dry. You keep warm there Marnet.

Used to have a wood fire stove when I lived in Alabama, kept the whole house toasty during the evenings. Would cook on top of it too, kids loved hot chocolate especially when made on the stove.
Marnet, yes please keep warm.

I keep a pot of coffee perking on the top, the house smells so warm and inviting then.

Hey, that's why Cuddle Duds were invented! Besides, I have four four-legged snuggle warmers who have been taking good care of me. Of course, it means I have so little room left at night in bed and in the evenings when on the couch that it is hard to twitch a muscle, but since there is often happy purring adding to the warmth, I just soak it all up. *happy grin*

Cuddle Duds are a workable option, my oldest dau wears them too. And the four-legged warmers are always a good thing :)

Had to google Cuddle Duds but now I understand. They do look cosy. We have similar garments here but they go by the terribly generic and uninteresting name of Thermals.
