  1. Here's a tune I pulled from the dark recesses of my brain; thanks (or not!)
    to the Internet.

  2. Ah, yes I remember!...... :)

  3. Uh huh, I remember the 80's Tigger. I got married and had two children in the 80's. That's about the best bit of them I think. The fashions etc are definitely forgettable.
See "I left the 80's in the 80's" Thread.
BTW, I remember that song, loved it.

  4. I remember that song--it is on my ipod. From Chess. As for the fashion--the white tux jacket dress--I had one! I loved it. Ah to be that little to wear something like that again.

  6. Some of my favorite 80's music...

    INXS
    Def Leppard
    Depeche Mode
    The Fixx
    U2
    The Outfield
    Peter Gabriel

  7. Another Def Leppard fan!! Woo hoo!

And when you say The Outfield, do you mean the group who had a hit with Voices of Babylon? 'Cos I've never met anyone else who's even heard of them!!

  8. That's the group, MCW. They did pretty good here in the States. They also had:

All the Love in the World
    Every Time You Cry
    Since You've Been Gone
    For You
    Closer To Me
    Say It Isn't So

  9. I've got an album of theirs somewhere that I bought on the strength of Voices of Babylon, must dig it out and have another listen!

  11. I came to age in the 80's..loved it. I had big hair, short skirts and I was a size 7!
Loved the new wave music, hair metal etc. Oh the good times....
I think I went through a can of Aqua Net a weekend to get my hair big lol

  12. OMG, I hadn't seen that in, oh, 20 years? Since before I found out that Murray Head is the brother of Anthony Stewart Head from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (any other Buffy fans out there?). There really is a resemblance.

Thanks for the flashback, Tigger. I'm a child of the 80's, and proud of it :) The only CD I take to the gym with me is Rio by Duran Duran, and I love it just as much every time.

  13. *trying to hide while whispering* to Kilroy...I Loved Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Posted 3 years ago by feral #

  14. Why hide, Feral? It had smart women, and the sexiest librarian EVER! :)

Posted 3 years ago by Kilroy #

  15. Kilroy I loved Buffy--although I say Spike stole the show! My Daughter has seveal of the seasons on DVD. She LOVES it--but she isn't fond of the first few years--she isn't an Angel fan. Although she likes bones. As for sexiest librarian daughter says that is easy---The Librarian!!! I see him as a Dr. on ER and she sees a sexy librarian--Noah Wiley!

Posted 3 years ago by SoxsMom #

  16. Okay Kilroy...You convinced me out. I'm no longer in the closet watching. I'm a Buffy fan & Proud of it.

SM...I also loved the Spike character. It must be the good girls like bad boys syndrome. lol

  17. It's funny, I loved Spike right up to the moment they stuck that stupid chip in his head and he couldn't be a bad guy anymore. He did get great lines, though, like when Angelus was torturing Giles and Spike said "I don't fancy cleaning librarian out of the carpet for weeks".

As you can probably tell, I love Giles :)

  18. lol

  19. Loved Buffy!... Loved Angel!... and Loved Bones!!!

80's for me were good - I graduated from college in 1980.... got my first "big paying" job in 1982, married in 1985, opened our own business in 1988, and had son the same year!...... also enjoyed the music, but never could do the "hair"... mine was always long and straight (more of the Lori Partridge look)!!! LOL

  20. Tigger! Thank you!! Generally speaking, the 80s were a bad decade for my taste in music, but I love this song, and had it stuck in my head all last week. I love it!

  21. *looks around..I have never seen Buffy*

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  23. I never watched a lot of things that seemed to be popular..My sister loves Buffy she bought the DVD collection.

Posted 3 years ago by cricketsmama #

  24. Borrow it immediately, CM. Oops, maybe better wait till you're getting more sleep, the scripts crackle and you don't wanna miss anything. {{{CM}}}

  25. Is crackle what I mean? Oh well, I know what I mean... lol, at least I think I do...

Posted 3 years ago by jcat #

  26. I have to agree with you jcat..I need more sleep to watch them first. :)

  27. Fluffy BIG hair, leg warmers and white keds sneakers with socks and watching Buffy kick a$$.Knock them vampires etc into next week!

Posted 3 years ago by Buttercup #

  28. Flash Dance and leg warmers!!! That was my life at the time!

Posted 3 years ago by SoxsMom #

  29. Hair. I had hair in the 80's. *grin*

Posted 3 years ago by Karma's Daddy #

  30. I was sort of the odd one back in the 80's.

I was the only person in my school that would put blue hair color on my bangs and wear a Gary Numan t-shirt to school.

I never got into the leg warmers or big hair, I was more into the Gary Numan t-shirt one day, and either a Cars or Rush t-shirt the next day. I was the first person at my school to bleach the front of my hair and leave the rest of it dark brown or maybe put glitter or blue hair color into it.

The music I listened to was equally strange:

    Gary Numan
    The Cars
    Kraftwerk
    Ultravox
    A Flock of Seagulls
    Alice Cooper
    Judas Priest
    Joy Division
    The Bee Gees
    The Grass Roots
