   Hi all,

   I've noticed a few people having problems with posts and comments not appearing. This is because they'll be falling foul of our spam prevention measures. If one of the following is true, the post probably not make it online:

   1. It contains two or more links
   2. It contains multiple e-mail addresses
   3. It features a large block of copied and pasted text
   4. It was posted within a few seconds of your previous post

   All these are things are common in comments made by spammers. I could switch it off, but to give you an example: for every genuine comment made on the site, there are two spam messages for viagra, pornography, real estate, shares etc. That you never see these is testament to how successful the software is, but it does mean that innocent messages will, from time to time, be caught up in this.

   So check your posts before you make them. If your post doesn't make it online, the worst thing you can do is to immediately post it again, because the software will become convinced further that your comment is not genuine. I clear out the false-positive messages on a fairly regular basis, so your message will eventually appear

   Hi Kitten Master! Thanks for responding so quickly. My topic that would not post was a link to a Halloween card. But why was I also banned from Night Shift? Why could I see my posts but no one else could? I was able to post a topic at that point but on Night Shift I was invisible to the other posters.

   It's not that you're banned - it's just that once a post or comment has been marked as probable spam, it's likely that any subsequent posts you make will be treated the same way, until I manually mark your posts as non-spam.

   Ah, that makes sense. Because when I was not able to post my Halloween card as a topic, I posted the link in Night Shift. Then I became invisible. Note to self: the spam blocker does NOT like links to card sites of singing "chins."

   I would post the link so you would know what I was talking about, but don't want it to happen again. ;-)
