  2. Sounds like it's gonna be a real mess. I wonder exactly what part of Arkansas CCM is in...the warnings talk of central and northern ark. Hopefully all our Midwesterners will check in!

  9. They have increased the forecast for Western Kentucky. Ice Storm of the decade has been bandied about and they are saying power outages are a given. I am going to cook dinner as soon as I get home and then go about filling oil lamps and changing flashlight batteries. I have a crank radio that I will drag out of the closet and I am going to charge up the phones, lap top and portable DVD player.

  11. MM, I've lucked out... forecast is for very light snow here, no ice. You take care of yourself down there!

  12. Ugh, mixed freezing rain and sleet started here in St. Louis about an hour ago with heavy snow due to start in another couple of hours and last until midday tomorrow. The accumulation totals and line separating who get mostly snow and mostly ice keeps shifting each time I hear a weather update.

At least got the cats litter trays all changed earlier today and bundled w/ the rest of the trash for morning pickup already out at the curb before I had to skate down the driveway!

  13. All of you be safe, hoping that the weather is kinder than being forecasted.

  14. Well so far, we have gotten a lot of ice. We got home just fine and are stocked up on food. The range is gas, so even if we lose power, we can still eat. The in-laws have a wood burning stove, so if it comes to that, we will head over there to get warm. It is even an animal friendly zone.
Emerson, however, took the opportunity to poop on something in the hall. In throwing it out, I fell in the drive-way. Really should have been paying more attention to the ice than being angry with the cat. (He is healthy. He does this from time to time when something is left out of place. No, my house is not tidy.) I am pretty sure I'm okay though. Hands hurt, but I'm not bleeding anywhere and everything moves just fine. Just caught myself on my palms. He knows he is in trouble and is keeping his distance.
How has everyone else faired so far?

  17. Good idea, HLB! Please be careful!!

MM, I hope you have not hurt yourself. It is easy to break bones in your wrist when falling!

  19. Well here in South Eastern Missouri the weather outside is truly frightful. I am supposed to go out for physical therapy later today but I am leaning toward canceling it. My truck has about 3/4" of ice on it and the ice is thicker on the driveway and it is still sleeting out there. We have a good supply of cat food, dog food and human food. They are saying that this could be the worst ice storm in these part in decades.

  20. I'm none the worse for wear. Didn't even bruise from falling. Guess it's good that I got ice on it right away. Har! Har!
Here's some pics and commentary about what it looks like at my house
