Nobody called you names. You came on with very sketchy information. We all make spelling errors, however we have learned that trolls continuously make spelling errors. It was simply asked that if you were not who you claim to be that you were hurting those who truly care and will go out of their way to help you. Many of us have gone to great lengths to help people that ask for advice and help with their kittens, only to find out it was some joke. We care here very much for the people in the community and for their cats. Tonight you gave much more information as to what was being done for your beloved feline friend. It appears that you are the one that is being fairly judgemental--exactly what you have accused others of. Stop and ask yourself would you want to invest hours to help research and share information to a person that made it up? There are many on here that have done just that to have it thrown in their face. Advice was given to you gladly and will be given in the future. I sincerely hope that you remembered to read the beloved KittenMaster's rules, they will save everyone from heartache if they are followed. I pray that your baby will be able to recover with the fine care you have gotten him. I also pray that you find comfort and assistance that has so willingly and freely been given to you here.

AJ the first thing you need to do is get the kitten on meds to take care of protozoans, which is what giardia is, clavomox and other antibiotics wont do anything because those are targeted at bacteria. If your kitty does pull through this she will needs lots of TLC, I am pulling for her. keep us updated ok

ok I see in your previous post she was changed to an anti-protizoan med. I hope she doesnt have trichomonas, its a pretty hard organism to get rid of as well as giardia

I apologize for being doubtful, AJ. There is a vast difference in quality between your first few posts and your follow-up post. It was not just grammatical errors, but it was quite disjointed. It appeared to have been written by a child. I am guessing it is because you are very stressed. And when I read that your cat may have "mail nurture," that kind of solidified my stance. I would think that a 19 year old animal owner (and vet student) would be familiar with the word "malnourishment."
If your last vet charged you thousands of dollars within a few weeks time with no clear diagnosis, and you feel he was scamming you, he needs to be reported. Start off with the Better Business Bureau.

Will do that. I was very stressed. I have been crying on and off for the last three days. I could not sleep because i had to keep waking up and pushing fluids with her. So when I got home tonight I realized I could sleep the whole night threw tonight. I cannot though because, well I am going to miss her lil' body snuggled up next to mine. When I saw her tonight in the incubator I could not help to cry. She looks so small in that box. When I got there with her wrapped in a towel and they rushed her back I felt like they were taking my child away. So I was very upset. Everyone there is pulling for her. I wanna call and check up on her but I dont want to be that annoying pet owner. Screw it I am calling.

AJ, go ahead and call. They will know what you're going through. My heart goes out to you. Please let us know too. We truly do want your kitty to get well and come home with you. We all know what it is like to love kitties and to lose them. You will find great advice and support here. Please don't judge us too harshly -- as SM said, we have been burned in the past by people making up stories.
That first vet was a disgrace. I don't know if you can get any money back but if I were you, I would be reporting him to the professional veterinary body in your state -- there must be one.

Also, something you might want to think about for the future when, God willing, your baby comes home -- are your kitties allowed outdoors? I live in New Zealand, where there are no natural predators for kitties but I know many people on this site, who live in the States, keep their cats indoors only. If you're living in the country, it could prevent future problems with predators and contaminated water sources.

Thanks guys. Well I just got off with Jenny one of the over night vet techs. Bella is too dehydrated for a direct vein line iv so they are temp. injecting her with fluids until her veins get bigger. I cannot remember what it i called but they started hot packing her with hot water bottles to rise her temperature. I hope she pulls threw. Jenny was very nice and talked about her in a very calm and caring tone. Also, Bella is a calico so her nose is usually bright pink, tonight it was almost clear. I miss my lil' monster. I am glad she is there because I bought her a lot of toys and kitty condo's but she has never played with them yet. My German Shepard Koojo misses her a lot though, he is 75 pounds at six months. I know koojo is usually spelled Cujo but I love to be unique. Same as Bella's full name is Bellason'.

AJ, just catching up on this update. I am so sad for you. Sounds like sweet little Bella is very sick. You did the right thing in taking her in. I hope and pray that they are able to help her. It sounds like they are giving her subcutaneous (under the skin) fluids, God willing this will help until the correct medication kicks in.
I have had kitties in the hospital before. I would not hesitate to call as often as you need to. Usually staff at vet clinic love animals and understand pet owners very well.

I am gonna call again in another hour. I just don't like being away from her. She is my white light. Mylie is always in my heart but Bella is helping me get over the pain of watching her die... With Mylie I was helpless in her death. The owl grabbed her when I was only feet away. I could hear her crying for what felt like hours after wards. When that owl came back though he met his faith. Koojo caught him mid air before he tried to grab my Yorkie Oscar. So all I can say is Karma comes back ten times harder. I just feel like I am fighting for both of them now. I see so much of Mylie in Bella it is hard sometimes. I believe in reincarnation and I believe Mylie tries to come back every now and then threw Bella. So I just cannot loose either of them. I am now just trying to figure out how to pay the vet bills. I am thinking about starting a Bella Fund in Elizabeth where I live. At the local feed stores and Big R.

Hi, AJ. Welcome to TDK. I'm sorry it is under such stressful circumstances! It sounds like you are giving every chance to Bella as she deals with her health issues. I hope you will be able to visit Bella as well as check on her by telephone. It will probably do you both good to have some face to face contact while she is in the vet hospital. Please keep us posted on how she is doing. If they will allow it at the vet hospital, you might want to bring an article of clothing you've worn, but not yet washed for her to sleep near. It might reassure her to be able to smell a familiar smell. :)

AJ...I'm sorry as well that little Bella is so sick. We all here have felt the pain you are now going thru. I lost a dear,sweet cat I loved as much as life itself back in 2007. I miss her so much that I swear I still see her sitting on my kitchen window sill waiting for me to feed her. In fact when I saw your avatar it made me start crying because she was a beautiful little tortie just like the one in your picture.

AJ, I'm so pleased you came back to update us. I really hope you continue to post here, this *is* a good, kind, caring site with plenty of advice and support.
This trauma comes way too soon after losing Mylie in such horrible circumstances - I'm praying hard Bella pulls through - sounds like she's in the right place now anyway, and getting the care and treatment she needs.

AJ, I'm so sorry to hear that Bella's very sick, indeed. You've done the best that you can for her, in getting her to a veterinary college where 24 hr intensive care is available. Hopefully if they're pushing warmed subcutaneous fluids, keeping her warm, and getting her on the meds she needs, it will help her get past this critically ill stage and into a more stable condition where she can begin the healing process.
I'm sorry to hear of Mylie's death. I understand you're in the country; there is a very steep death rate for kittens once they become mobile and start following their mamas to learn about their habitat and hunting. I know it must have hurt you very much to see Mylie die, but I also know that the owl was simply doing what they're supposed to do. It might have been a somewhat inexperienced owl; more mature owls usually steer clear of cats and kittens as prey, because felines are such fierce fighters.
If Bella recovers, are you planning to have her become an indoor kitty? And do you always supervise your Yorkie outdoors, too? Such small pets as a Yorkie and a kitten less than 8 months old are often considered prey for larger birds of prey, coyotes, foxes, and other predators.
My heart goes out to you. I hope and pray for Bella's recovery. Don't hesitate to call the vet's office to talk with a vet tech or the vet a couple times per day. Bella's very sick, and they understand your concern.

Hi AJ, I think we all put a lot of trust in our vets! I know I do! Most of the time, I trust but verify! I think when people see a young woman they tend to think they can take advantage of you. My rule of thumb to finding a good vet is, ask animal lovers/breeders in your area to recommend someone. Having a sick animal is scary and stressful. I agree with some previous posts, that you have to keep calling to check progress. You know what they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Good luck and all the best!

Hi AJ, I really hope your kitten Bella starts to feel better soon. Don't worry about calling. My cat (the white one in my avatar) Taco was in the hospital for more than a week and also had severe dehydration and was very sick. I called many times for updates and they were always glad to let me know what is going on. You should ask the vet office what their visiting hours are so you can see sweet Bella. Often when kitties can see their owners they feel a bit better and fight a little harder. I hope that things work out for the best; update us when you can.
