  1. Just put in my votes for today. I hate to break it to you, Great Dane, but Bob has obviously learned the rule: DON'T GET ON THE COUNTER! (at least when Mom is right there). My cats have always known that one too. Quite often when I was downstairs I would hear the telltail "thump" as I headed up the steps. By the time I got upstairs Jerrie was always at the other end of the house, gazing innocently out the window - but I knew it was him (the other cats were not jumpers).

Oh, whatever you do, don't leave the bag of food (or treats) up there overnight. Disaster!

  2. Thanks for the votes, everybody! Today's the 25th and it looks as if the Bobster will be the cat of the month in a few days! Yay!
Bob found a new way to interrupt his Mama's sleep last night! Around three o'clock little man stepped on the remote that controls the fan and ceiling light and turned the light on! Arrrrgh! I'll have to hang the remote on the wall from now on, I think!

  3. How funny! I've never had that happen, but I leave my TV remote on a table next to my easy chair that Max walks on all the time. One of these nights the TV is going to go on in the middle of the night and scare the bejeebers out of me!! Sending my 5 votes for Bobby Boy now!

  4. That Bob, what a little character. My cats walk on the remote too M&M's Mom. Suddenly the TV will get really really loud.

Huddy also knows how to knock the phone off of it's stand when it rings. Of course, the phone picks up after that. Once I went to pick it up and it was my dad going "Hudson?? Hudson??" while Huddy stood there and looked at the phone.

  5. That is too funny, Huddy's Mama! When Gibbie wanted to get me up during the night he would go over to the bedside table, pick up my eye glasses, and drop them on the floor. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on. Apparently he made the connection that the first thing I do when I get up is put on my glasses. It always seemed to work, too - the sound of the glasses hitting the floor would usually wake me up.

  6. Ha, Huddy!
The other day, I was erasing voicemails from my cell phone and just to annoy me, the phone company makes you listen to the whole message before you can get to the option to erase it. Anyway, the Bob was next to me, so I reached the phone out to him while a woman was talking on the phone leaving her message - Bobsky went nuts! He listened, sniffed, swatted and bit the phone!
Sometimes when it rings, the runs over to it, as well - don't know if it's the sound or the red light flashing on the phone during an incoming call!
Hmmm, maybe I should get him a phone for Christmas, he does seem to like them!

  7. I've put in my 5 votes for each of "ours".
Polly loves my computer and my electric toothbrush, but hates the noise the phone makes.

  8. We have an electric garage door, and if we leave it anywhere Polly can get at it she walks over it and opens the door. She loves to sit inside my little sports car - I have even nearly driven off with her inside before now. (The car is a 1961 "Frogeye" Austin Healey Sprite

  9. Awww, Polly! How does she like riding in the car, Polly's Mum? Does she only like the car when it's not in motion?

  10. Wheee! Bob is almost up to 3000 votes. Go Bob Go!!!!!!

  11. Hey GD, yep, little guy is home from "kitty sleep-away camp" and is he SPOILED. OH Boy. Jamie, who runs the kennel, told me that Tiger had a little stuffed mouse and he would knock it off the counter and then meow that he didn't have his toy! She said that he kept doing this so much that she had to put him in the treatment room. She said that he was acting just like a 2 year old baby. Hubby said that this was normal. My dad does spoil the little guy to death!

  12. Awww, TigerButt! Sounds like the little guy loves his kitty sleep-away camp! Maybe he really needed that toy because he didn't have his buddy Bailey to play with?
It's great that he seems to really like Jamie and the kennel - makes things a lot easier for you, so you can go spend time with hubby. Hugs to little Tiger!

  13. GD, I wanted to thank you for your support the first time that the little guy went to kitty sleep-away camp. You know how nervous I was to let him go away, but with your support, I did it and now he loves it there (well, except that he goes to sleep-away camp at the same place that he gets his shots at). He isn't fond of the shots and Jamie says that he pouts after he gets his shots. She told me that he even ignored her after he got his shots and she said "hey Tiger, I wasn't even in the Room!" I told you, spoiled baby.

  14. You are very welcome, Tiger's Mama! I would be nervous taking the Bobster to kitty sleep-away camp, but I'm sure he, too, would enjoy himself. I'm glad you have such a great kennel with great people to take him to - even if he does get his shots there!
It's funny he ignored Jamie after the shot - he's a smart one, he knew she had something to do with it! Bobby never seems to mind his shots - he doesn't even flinch (maybe because he's getting so fat?)- but he does sleep most of the day afterwards!
You just keep on spoiling little Tiger, Tiger's Mama - he's worth it!

  17. 3051 votes with my five this morning! Yay!
The Bob is with me at work today. The first thing he did was find a lizard to scare the heck out of. I wanted nothing to do with the lizard, but the boss came in and saved it from the Bobster.
A friend of mine stopped by last night and Bobsky was thrilled to play with the guy. When I have women friends over, he mostly stays away, but may come over to sniff at them. Why do you think he prefers guys? (and no comments about Pinky Pants' collar!)

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  18. *waves and big hugs to Bob* Such a work a holic kitty. I'm with Bob, I don't like lizards either - lol.

Some cats prefer males to females. Huddy doesn't like ANY males but the man friend - he ALWAYS runs away from my dad. Maybe it's my dad's deep voice he doesn't like. *shrugs*

Have fun with Bob today, GD. You're so lucky. I can't wait for my boss to be out of town so I can bring Huddy in again. :)

  19. Bet Huddy can't wait either, HM!

  20. My boss said when I get my other office I can bring TigerButt in. Cool!!

  21. Awww, yay for TigerButt! He'll be knocking stuff off your desk in no time, Terri!
Is the weather by you as terrible as it is down here? It's supposed to be like this at least through tomorrow. It's been grey, rainy with thunder and lightning for days now! Yuck!

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  22. That sounds like BEAUTIFUL weather, Great Dane.

Posted 4 years ago by HuddysMama #

  23. Yeah, it's lovely! *grumble, grumble* (now maybe on a Sunday, it would be nice for staying in bed with a book, coffee and the Bob, but not for days on end and not when you have to get out of bed and go to work in the mornings!)
Grrr, it's raining into the office again - thought that had been fixed!

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. They NEVER fix the leaky roofs. We had that at our old office. They would come out, make all sorts of noise on the roof and the next time it rained, the ceiling would leak - lol.

I even thought the hurricane with my namesake would bring some rain, but no such luck.

Posted 4 years ago by HuddysMama #

  25. The mornings are wonderful, but the afternoon are serious rain. I got stuck coming home on Sunday in hurricane force rain/wind/thunder/lightning. But they (the weatherpeople) wouldn't call it a hurricane.

  26. Yuck!
Speaking of rain/water, the Bob has a new - and bad - habit! For some reason the last week or so, instead of drinking from the middle of the water bowl like a normal kitty, he started licking the water up the far inside of the water bowl. Of course that way he scoops half of what he drinks into his mouth and the other half in a nice puddle on the floor! Grrrr! WHat's this all about?

Posted 4 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. Melon likes to toss the water from his drinking bowl and drinks from the floor! Am I doing something wrong?

  29. Gave Bob his 5 votes this morning! Also 5 for my Big Red, and 5 for the Gimpster--champions all!

  30. Just did my fiver for the Bobster. I love the stories of Bob and the other kitties.

Sylvester discovered that I had put the catnip plant up on top of the refrigerator. He doesn't go up on the counters but the big stinker figured out that he could climb onto the counter and then jump up on top of the fridge, knocking the nip plant onto the floor. I came in the next morning and there was the plant still in the holder but dirt all over the floor. Bad Sylvester! Thankfully he hasn't done that ever again.

Don't we love having our furry alarm clocks! Sylvester comes and wakes me up by walking slowly across my stomach or thigh making sure I feel the full weight of his 14 1/2 pounds. OUCH! He does this around 4:30am so I think his internal clock is messed up by Daylights Savings time since I am normally up at 5:30am.
