I can't believe that we are in our first tornado watch and it is still February! It is strange looking outside. So that is kinda scary! I'm not sure I am ready for the storm season yet! Makes one think that spring has already sprung with storms this soon!

It's been strange looking here all day too, ILMC. We're supposed to get nasty thunderstorms this evening. No tornadoes (yet). Be careful - you know how the weather is here.

Stay safe to HM! Hopefully we will not get any warnings! We could really use the rain. We are 9 inches short of where we are suppose to be! The wind has been blowing like crazy here all day...at times up to 40 mph.

We're in Texas. We haven't had any rain for a long time, either.

Wow, that can be scary! We get a few tornados here (mostly inland)... but on the coast where I live, we get water spouts.... I've seen a few in my life time, and they are awesome to watch, but very scary.... of course we also deal with hurricanes, but I don't even want to go there.....

Wish we would get some cold and rain. Winter seems to be all but over here.

We did get 1/4 inch rain early Sunday morning which helped settle the dust!
I am located in North Central Texas. Land of the rattlesnake and mesquite trees...lolPosted 3 years ago by ILoveMyCats #

Or just grow some cows. When I see a cow, I automatically think 'ribeye'
It's pouring here now. Just in time for rush hour.

Here on the desert plains we are on the fringe of tornado country and usually have two or three a year. It is cloudy today but no rain and get this - wind gusts are up to 60mph with sustained winds between 30 - 45 mph.
Needless to say, we are on High Fire Alert today.

Hi Puddytat! It is going to serious this spring for the "oow people" if we don't get some rain!
HM...don't say ribeye to loudly! I have been watching after a calf for my nephew that has been sick and it is so sweet! I have just fallen in love with the little darling!!! I would not make a good "cow person" cause I would never be able to part with any of them!!Posted 3 years ago by ILoveMyCats #

Here in tornado alley...its coming right for us! Just what we need after the ice storm. Currently we are under high wind advisory until noon tomorrow, severe weather watch until noon tomorrow and because it has rained all day on top of the moisture from the ice storm and the debris from the ice storm we are under flood watch. There is an extra special note to the flood watch that there will be flooding in unusual areas because of the storm debris AND that we can expect more limbs and whole trees to fall down...which means more power outages! Power finally came back on at the house during the morning, but with the weather, who knows how long that will last!

I'm so glad that I spent all day yesterday dusting..... *picks up AV's swiffer and gets back to work*
There is just no future in cleaning when you live in West Texas!!!

WWM....don't you know that is why they have spring cleaning!!! Dust after the rain comes!!! I noticed my tv last night. It is terrible. It would make a feather duster proud!!!!

We had Ike last year AGV, we weren't under water, but nobody had a roof left :)
You are right WWM, why I decided that black lacquer furniture was just what I needed is beyond me. I dust at least 2 times a week. This is the dustiest place I've ever lived.
Take care, KYKAT!!!!

All you Texans be safe...we have been having the same weather here. Raining now with a chance of t-storms and the dreaded tornadoes.

Thanks HM. My house is fairly close to the River and tornados tend to pick up when going over the river and jump my part of the county. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and keep an ear out for the sirens.

we're okay. It has gotten close. Kiddo's school is on lockdown. It hit a neighborhood just north of us. I've got some friends I need to get in contact with. The first wave missed my parents. Haven't checked in with them since the second. Headed home here in a few.

yikes! I hope this isn't as scary as it sounds. apparently, I need ID to go home
4:18 p.m. If you live in Edmond, you’ll want to take note of this: People living in Edmond on the north side of Kelly, Santa Fe or Broadway will have to show identification to get back into the neighborhood.
