Tornado Watch!!
(64 posts)-
Thank you. We're in good shape right now. I half expect for the power to go out as they try to get the power back up for the other neighborhoods. Not a big deal though. It is never out for long.
We've got friends in the neighborhood that was hit, but they are at the opposite end. They should be fine as well.Posted 3 years ago by MeezerMama in OK; 10/23 #

Hope all of you in Tornado Alley under the gun tonight stay safe! It's due here in St. Louis about 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. with heavy, flooding rain (ground isn't well thawed yet so most rain will run off), possible tornadoes and high winds of 30 to 60 mph predicted for all day tomorrow. Guess the loose siding in the soffets where the squirrels got in and made nests may come down. As long as it doesn't do permanent damage it may discourage the squirrels and make them move out. I don't want them hurt any! But I do want them to GO AWAY and stop living in my sided over soffets! LOL

Stay safe, Marnet!
Prayers for all who are in harm's way!!

The storm is heading my way. It has just passed Hamilton (North east of us). The boys and I will sit up for a while and watch the weather. It looks like that Brazos Co will not get the worse of if. I do hope that we get some rain. I am watching Dateline....can you believe the mom of those 8 babies? What in the world was she thinking. No job, does not own a home and was living off of an insurance payment and student loans. Her mom watches the kids. I can't believe it! Amazing! She is calling herself and incubator for the babies. Yikes.

Stay safe Puddytat! The avitar of the boys is beautiful!! As for that so called mother--her mother, the grandmother, even says she doesn't know anything about being a mother and is selfish. 14 kids and living off the system. I would love to understand how she had this invitro process with no job!

The 60 mph winds here are finally dying down - thank goodness. And I haven't heard sirens so maybe no fires. Going on five months now with no rain. Bad situation for fires.

MM and Puddytat glad you are safe. The squall line has mostly passed through here, but we are expecting 50 mile an hour winds later this morning and are under wind advisory until 5 this evening. Trees are toppling in the saturated soil. My poor neighbor lost what was left of his trees this morning.

Oh that's awful KYKAT. These storms devastate so much more than people's homes and belongings. Living in Oregon..teehee..I see the trees as close friends. I'm sure your neighbor is happy it was ONLY the trees but surely hated to lose them. Glad your safe..watch out for those winds.

Hi everyone! Just able to get on. I am glad to hear everyone is safe! It was pretty scary last night. They issued at least 4 tornado warnings in our area. The only damage that I know of so far is one of my customers lost some barns and had damage to his house but no injuries! We had nickel size hail and high winds! The community of Lone Grove in Oklahoma did not fair as well.
They had a trailer park destroyed and as of now at least 15 deaths.
The weather spotters confirmed that it was the same storm that left this area but just intensifed. The news said it would take months for this community to be back to normal. Please keep them in your prayers!Posted 3 years ago by ILoveMyCats #

OOOO I'm sorry ILMC and KYKAT. We only got some rain and a lot of wind - the wind actually took the power out for a bit at about 1 this morning. I'm so glad that our family is ok. I feel so badly for the people of OK though. That's horrible. How strange to have this weather so early in the year. Although I remember one year we had a tornado at Christmas.

Hi everyone. There was damage north of FW/Dallas area. Passed right over FondaHonda's area. The heavy squalls reached up (se of Dallas) but, fortunately for us, no hail, no tornadoes. Just lotsa rain.
We just hunkered down, unplugged the computer and waited it out. Guess this means were going to have a rough spring ahead.Posted 3 years ago by artistabobbi TX 1/17 #

Hey guys not to freak anyone out but we just evacuated my office. We have a ten story tower and a section of building that is one story. The wind is picking up 50 & 100 pound sand bags and tossing them off the ten story tower onto the roof of the admin office. That part of the building is unsafe and going home is unsafe. Im logging this in from my cell phone. Im expecting a cow to fly by any minute.

Hunker down, KYKAT. And please check in again when you can.

Stay safe KyKat! I need to correct my statement early. They are now reporting 8 dead instead of 15 in Lone Grove. At noon the news was reporting more but the governor's statement was 8 deaths and 2 missing...

I was sitting on my couch (watching the weather interrupt 'Without a Trace'), when they mentioned a tornado warning for my small city. What did I do as the storm warning sirens blared? Turned on the porch light, looked out the windows, then sat back down on the couch. The wind/rain was amazing! I share a classroom with another teacher and her neighborhood has been on our local news all night--a roof blew off the house next door to hers. I was even surprised to see her at school this morning!

I made it home and amazingly we still have power. Shingles are flying off of my roof though. The wind is hitting my house square on. At least 3 more sandbags got blown down onto my office since my last post. Still no flying cows though there was this old lady on a bike... Hopefully it will blow through soon.

Wow, Kykat, you have first the ice storm, then flood watch and now tornado watch. What a doozy of strange weather you are having. Please all stay safe. Glad to hear all are okay. Sending calming hugs and prayers.
