  1. If for whatever reason this doesn't work out, there's still Scarver's Rocky...

(who would be living with me by now if I lived on the other side of the Atlantic)

  2. Good luck with the "kitty visit". MMM. I too am very sorry for your loss of Molly. Hope things work out with "Cooter".

  3. You know, MCW, I almost asked about adopting Rocky. I hesitated a bit, then Shelley said she was going to adopt him--I was so happy! Especially since he'd be coming to Michigan, and I could go see him and Shelley because they don't live that far from me. But since that didn't work out, maybe..... I'll visit Cooter on Sunday and see how we get along. Although I don't think there's a cat in the world that I wouldn't love (well, maybe not so much a hairless one!! Sorry Sphynx lovers!)

  4. Oh, MMM, it would be wonderful if you could take sweet Rocky! :)

  5. The name 'Cooter' just sounds like fun in a kitty package! Sat here trying to think of a name that sounds kind of like it but with an 'M'....haven't come up with anything yet.....where is Miu when needed????

  7. Just got back from my visit with "Cooter"--he's a beauty, mostly gray with 4 white paws. He's a pretty big boy, but I didn't even get to hold him. I was told he comes to you, you don't pick him up. They assured me he was lovable, but as I was trying to "warm up" to him, he bit me three times. Not a mean bite, just a "watch yourself!" type bite. He rubbed up against my legs, and I could pet him, but deep down I was skeptical about taking him home to meet Max. Max is only about 7 1/2 lbs, and this guy is pretty hefty. I think Cooter is used to being "king of the house", and I don't know how Max would take that. The people understood, and said if I had any qualms, not to take a chance. Which is exactly what I did--I politely declined to take Cooter home and thanked them for being so nice.

Ok, now, where is Scarver? Maybe Rocky is meant to be with me?

  8. I think you were wise to not take Cooter. He might do best being an only kitty. I haven't seen scarver in a few days. Do you have her e-mail address?

  9. MMM I am sorry it didn't work out with you and Cooter but your instincts are your best barometer. You know Max and I have no doubt your feel for how he would object to Cooter is justified. There is another one waiting for you and Max. You will find it soon.

  10. KW--no, I don't have Scarver's e-mail address. I looked on the Christmas card list, but I didn't find her name. Perhaps my list isn't totally updated. Does anyone have her e-mail? You can give it to me at
    jimmievandegrift at yahoo dot com.

  11. I think that I would have been leery about Cooter, too, MMM. But Petpntr can tell you that your kitty is out there waiting somewhere!

  12. I thought I had her email, MMM, but I can't find it. Does anyone else have it?

  13. I've got it somewhere MMM, hang on -

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  14. Yup, got it. I've emailed Scarver and told her to check this thread & expect an email from you. I'll email you her address now -

  15. Thanks so much MCW--we'll see where this road takes us.... hopefully to a very happy union.

  16. I have my fingers firmly crossed for you MMM :o)

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  17. Fingers crossed for you, MMM, Maxie and Rocky.

I think not taking Cooter was a good idea.

  18. I am not sure what Rockys story is. I do know that I have seen his name mentioned a few times and I gather he is looking for a new forever home.

Am I the only one here that thinks this is karma?

How come with all the kitty lovers we have here that Rocky hasn't found a home yet. We managed to find homes for sick cats and other cats that needed homes (remember how we almost found a home for the ragdoll that 2BPs sister was going to take). Yet nothing for Rocky.

I think Rocky has been waiting for MMM

  19. MMM I hope it works out for you to get Rocky :) Let us know how it turns out.

  20. I think you did the right thing MMM. Best of luck with Rocky.

  21. Scarver's avator takes you to Sarah's Catster page, and if you scroll down, you can click on a picture of Rocky & see more - he sounds like the sweetest natured little chap, and I swear if I lived over there rather than over here...

You're going to ask me now about finding the thread - I had to look, eventually found it on about page 3 of NNGM's profile!!!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  22. Just waiting to hear from Scarver now.

    Posted 3 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

  23. That was very obliging of NNGM, she's just posted on another thread, so I was able to find Scarver's thread - click away to see the gorgeous Rocky!

  24. Awwww Rocky is a tabby. He sounds like he would be a wonderful cat and would not overrun Max or try to take over his territory. A match made in heaven maybe?

Posted 3 years ago by petpntr #

  25. Another tabby--and a Texas tabby at that!! A little brother for Max, just like Milo is for Bobby.
He does sound like a really lovable kitty, and I can't wait to get in touch with Scarver and see what we can work out.

    Posted 3 years ago by MaxandCali'sMom #

  26. I know Scarver sometimes has computer issues MMM, so don't worry if you don't hear back from her too quickly! If it's meant to be...

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  27. Bobby say go for it, MMM! He tells me little brothers can be a bother but for the most part they're lots of fun and great company :)

Posted 3 years ago by GreatDane #

  28. Boy, you guys are good! I was just going to go back and find one of Scarver's posts and you already did it. I admit i was tempted to take in Rocky too, but I have to be realistic - my girls are just now really starting to get along, and adding another cat to the mix would probably not be good for them.

The problem, as I remember it, was getting Rocky from Texas all the way to Michigan. I think some people were looking into the trucker's website where they transport pets to their new homes. I will see if I can find that thread, I thiink it was started by Scarver or Shelley.

  29. Operation Roger isn't it? I think Petpntr has a link for them...if she's stopped laughing at WWM on the book club thread yet...!

Posted 3 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  30. Here is the thread, the link to Operation Roger is in there.
